It’s reasonably bright, as should be expected for 1500 lumen. It’s rather long, perhaps the 1000 lumen model is better if you need a more compact light. The main regret I have about this flashlight is the lack of a variable beam for focusing the light. Overall it’s a good light.

the illumination was incredible--- i walk my dog at night near a lot of wooded areas that are filled with skunks raccoons and other critters--- ordinary flashlights that i used before didnt project far enough to give a good "advance notice"--- given the recent sighting of a bobcat as well, the nighttime walks will be much more secure

This time of year I review my lighting needs since I live full time in a motorhome during the winter. I bought this flashlight based on it's compactness (not bulky like the old C and D cell flashlights), brightness, and the fact that it was rechargeable ( I don't have to worry about carrying batteries with me). The ergonomics of the ridged barrel fits very nicely in my hand. It is bright (I think at the high level you could see to the end of a football field), but you can dim it if you don't need to see far ahead or want a softer light. I was very surprised how effective the auto dimming feature worked, so as you enter an area with appropriate light it will automatically dim. When not in the motorhome, I plan on carrying it in my car.

One thing I don't like about this product batteries are not replaceable so I kept it as a collectible flashlight I don't use it
