Q: Is this solid cork through and through or are other materials also used? Is the pattern printed on fabric or directly onto the cork? I'm wondering how durable the printed surface might be.

A: They have a top layer that isn't cork. They are not particularly durable, especially on the edges. However, they keep liquids from going through and thus protect my table. I accept them as short-term.

I had high hopes for these cork placemats, but the edges aren’t sealed so they can’t be easily cleaned. My home is high traffic and one spilled drink would’ve ruined one, making the set incomplete. I returned.

We can never find placemats we like. I saw someone on instagram use these as a writing mat for their kids- dry erase markers work well on them. We also use them as placemats. The work well to protect our table from warm dishes and ipe up well. I started with 2 and quickly added more to my collection. Husband likes them too which is saying something.

Easy to clean and keeps table can and from getting damaged. I ordered online, and whomever prepared my order, grabbed whatever was there. Only 2 are the same exact color. Not the products fault. They are great for daily use in my kitchen. If I want something to look pretty, I would not use these.

Not liquid or stain resistant. Liquids seep through the lamination especially at the eyes and stain the pattern. Slighter I sauces, etc will stain through the laminated top.
