Q: Do these get very wrinkly after washing and drying?

Q: Is the side with the no "edges" the front or back?! One side is seamless the other looks almost like a frame.

Q: Are these placemats machine washable? What is the recommended way to clean? Also, the two pictures seem to be different. Are they depicting it from both sides (reversible)?

I do like how they look. And I wanted something softer like a cloth napkin feel, so they are great for me. I really appreciate that these are washable. Some complain that they wrinkle when washed/dried but I just shake them out after washing and hang to dry. This seems to prevent the shrinking as well. (I air dry lots of other things so it's not an inconvenience). Just can't beat the price either, for the quality you do get.

I wish this had a grip on the back they don’t stay in place at all. Also it wrinkles when you wash it. For the price it’s great but don’t be expecting west elm quality here folks

For the price, I’ll keep them. But, I washed them according to care instructions and they shrunk about 1/4 inch all around. They will also need to be ironed after drying, which is a pain.
These placemats are great. Just don't ever wash them.

These placemats look great… until you wash them. The product description says they’re washable. Care & Cleaning: Machine dry, iron as needed, machine wash, wash with like colors. But… * The fabric finish disappears with one wash. * They fade. A lot. If you don’t wash the whole set together, you end up with mismatched items. * They wrinkle and pucker after washing - and I’m not going to iron placemats. * When you wash them, they unravel at the edges, probably because they’re hemmed too close to the edge of the fabric. So… if you love them, don’t wash them. Spot treat only. In reality, though, if you can’t wash a placemat, it’s not practical. So maybe just don’t buy them.

So nice to have a truly machine washable placemat. The “wipe clean” kind don’t work with kids. My only complaint is that they do dry a little bit wrinkly. No one in this day & age is actually going to IRON their placemats - just sayin.
