1st time using the Mesquite Wood Chunks, used them to smoke a pork butt (pulled pork) turned out Great! Smoked for 10 hours, chunks held up, was not adding chips every hour (or more). Only added chunks about 3 maybe 4 times (did soak them over night) added a great flavor. Got many "you can make this again anytime, Great". Can't wait to try them with a brisket in a week or two! FYI....took me awhile to review this product due to weather and work, sorry

I received a bag of Cowboy Charcoal Apple Wood Chunks for free from Cowboy Charcoal. My boyfriend and I grilled over Memorial Day weekend and we used the Apple Wood Chunks in our charcoal grill. We grilled steak and shrimp, and everything turned out great! The steak had a very light taste. You could hardly tell the meat was grilled outside at all. There was barely any smoky taste at all. The meat was very juicy as well. I definitely would recommend this product!

Nice sized chunks of solid apple. Added a really nice flavor to the ribs and leg of lamb that I did on the smoker this weekend. Combined with hickory for the ribs. Quality product!

High quality hickory chunks! Nice hickory flavor throughout the food. For this cook I used 2 large chunks soaked in yesterday's leftover wine, over briquettes. I made herb marinated spatchcocked whole chicken. Marinade was fresh oregano, chives, lemon thyme, garlic, splash of fish sauce & mirin and olive oil.

The aroma that these chunks give off is just amazing. I put 2 chunks right on the top of my lump charcoal and the smoke kept rolling for 2.5 hours and still had plenty left to burn. The smoke from hickory imparts a fantastic taste to whatever meat you're grilling. I used it on some pork tenderloin and it came out great!

Burned nice and evenly and put just the write amount of additional flavoring in the chicken that was grilled up, even when we had to add more for my younger brother, who likes a bit more of a hickory flavor. I would definitely purchase this again and look forward to also trying the mesquite.

I most recently used these wood chunks to grill some turkey burgers. I followed the directions on the bag and they worked as advertised. I honestly don't think using these for grilling is the best choice, as they burn up pretty quickly and can get expensive using them for that. I think they are a very good choice for using in a charcoal smoker as added flavor. I have used them for that too and think they are a more suited for that application.

These are hands-down the best wood chips I have ever used. These reduced the amount of charcoal I had to use and they added the most lovely, authentic taste to my food. I would most definitely use these in the future. I love how it reduced the amount of charcoal because that means I'm using fewer fossil fuels and that makes me feel better about the actions I'm taking. +

The apple wood chunks imparted a smoky flavor to the whole chicken I was roasting. By collecting the drippings from the bird in a pan I was also able to make a gravy that added a smoke flavor to the potatoes and stuffing. The juices were sealed inside the crisp kin, making the breasts tender and juicy.
