Cricut Joy Shimmer Permanent Smart Vinyl

I an a firm believer of using cricut products, no aftermarket. This is lovely, colors are consistent with each roll. I never worry about quality. Love it.

This vinyl has an amazing finish, and is super easy to use. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to add some sparkle to their project! This vinyl also comes with a sheet of strong grip transfer tape, which is really handy as it means you don't have to buy seperate transfer tape.

Doesn’t stick to transfer tape. Total waste of money.

Impossible to weed, even when using different settings and attempting to reverse weed. Constantly rips or produces frayed edges. Waste of money

I must agree with the bad reviews, it is very difficult to work with. BUT I would still keep using because you can work around the problems. More pressure to the blade when cutting and I use masking tape instead of transfer tape. Masking tape never fails. It easily grabs the vinyl and releases just as easily. Besides is quick and easy to order and pickup from target, so I’ll keep buying :)

Pretty but a pain If you’re cutting small designs

This vinyl is going to be a bit more complex to work with. Make sure you set your project to cut the shimmer material and not the regular material. You will also need to strong grip transfer tape because it is not a flat texture like regular vinyls. I've used this with success and would use again. But once again, set your machine to cut the correct material (shimmer NOT regular) and have strong grip transfer tape.

If I could give less than one star, I would! This is absolutely junk! Doesn’t cut well, hard to weed, wouldn’t stick to any of the three transfer tapes I tried! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Dont waste your time. The transfer paper won’t stick on to even the smallest cut out. The texture on the vinyl makes it completely impossible to stick to the transfer paper. I had to throw out my print outs.

I've heard Cricut brand vinyl is awful but I thought I would give this a try because it looks so beautiful. However it is the must frustrating vinyl I have ever worked with!! It does not cut cleanly so I found myself using an xacto to fix areas that the foil was left behind after the shimmer part peeled away. Then the transfer tape I have didn't budge it. I used the weeding tool to peel away the design from the paper to see if I could then place it on the transfer tape that way. It still would not stick even then. I would not purchase this again. I never got it to work correctly for my project.

This glitter vinyl is making me rethink my DIY project. It doesn’t cut well so my words come apart as I’m weeding. And, regular transfer tape probably won’t work. I’m scrapping this project and looking for other red vinyl options.

Great BUT make sure to have a super strong transfer tape because the regular vinyl transfer tape never worked. I had to go piece by piece with the tools to place them properly.
