Q: Does it have a dry setting?
submitted by jane - 4 years ago
A: Hi Jane, Thank you for your question. This unit has a dry cycle that relies on residual heat from the wash/rinse. The rinse aid in this unit also helps to speed drying the dishes. You may open the door to encourage air circulation that helps the drying process as well. Regards, Adrian

The dishwasher is perfect for cleaning up after our library lunch events. We had to buy an adapter to hook it up to the faucet, but it really wasn't a problem. It also has a space for adding a rinse aid, which is a plus. It's also light weight and easy to maneuver. Hoping it lasts several years.

While the dishwasher cleans well I am disappointed that I have to get on my hands and knees to ensure all the water is drained from the hoses before looping them on the back. Now I understand why there was no picture of the back/hoses & plug on your website. Had I known/seen that I would have considered purchased a different portable dishwasher. Our previous Dandy dishwasher had hoses that retracted into the back. Why change a good design for a flawed one!
1 reply from customer service team - 2 months ago
Hi, Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. I understand how frustrating it must be to deal with the setup of the hoses. The change in design allows for more versatility, but it can certainly take some getting used to. If you need further assistance or troubleshooting tips, please reach out to our consumer service team at consumerservice@danby.com. Regards, Earl

Good for small spaces. Cleans very well. The only drawback are the hoses in the back. When cycle is finished you have to be careful when detaching hoses to not have water all over. I drain them in a dishpan and keep a rag handy. Would have preferred them inside the unit.

This is a really great dishwasher for a small kitchen. We actually have already saved 30% of our water bill using it. I'm giving it a 4 due to some function changes that would make it better. Ie. Not having the cup saucer section at the top would allow for more fill options, having one less plate on the bottom rack near the sidewall would allow for longer big dishes like glass bakeware. You can still fit a lasagna pan in the top but it takes the whole area. I expect my water savings will cover the unit cost within a year or two.

This dishwasher is a good compromise between an appliance that needs to fit in a small space and one that will fit most daily-use items. We're even able to fit the largest stock pot we regularly use, if we leave the utensil basket out for that cycle. You just have to make sure you don't block the detergent hatch from opening. Having a spray arm for the top rack means I can wash larger items on the bottom without having to worry that I've blocked the items on the top rack from getting cleaned, which was a hassle with our old dishwasher. The top rack accommodates some of the larger top-rack-only items I wash, such as my food processor bowl and larger plastic strainers. Thus far I have not had any problems with plastics being damaged, even when using the sanitize option with a cycle. I've found this easier to clean than dishwashers I've owned before -- the filter assembly is easy to reach even for my short arms and comes out without any difficulty, so it's fairly accessible if you have arthritis or other joint problems. Replacement parts for this model are inexpensive enough that you can buy an extra filter assembly to make frequent clean-up easier, which I did. (An extra utensil basket for this model is also inexpensive, and having a spare that can sit in your sink to collect silverware and then just have the whole basket swapped into the dishwasher at once is very handy, too.) The cons: there's no hose storage on this except for a hook on the back, so nothing to keep water from the hose from spiling onto the floor. So you'll either need to let it sit in a bucket after you run the dishwasher to get out that last little bit of water that doesn't easily come out at the sink, or come up with another solution. I used magnetic utility hooks to mount a tall, narrow plastic bin on the back below the hose holder, which works pretty well to contain the water that's invariably left in the hose after you disconnect it. I'm also not a huge fan of the top style for this dishwasher -- I worry about the plastic staining -- but it was pretty easy to find a piece of tempered glass to fit the top, and some non-slip pads to keep that glass in place. Setup was relatively easy, but it did take a little trial and error (and some initial water on the floor) before we were sure the hoses were connected tightly enough. They were tricky to reach well enough to do this, and we ended up having to back the dishwasher up to the edge of a stair to get enough clearance to do so. We've had no problems since, though. Depending on the faucet you have, you might also find a faucet dishwasher adapter with a swivel ball joint helpful in getting a secure connection. We found that using one of those and making sure to snug the connector collar upward manually before turning on the water has worked very well to prevent leaks or the connector slipping off the faucet.

I'd probably love it if it worked. When I hooked it up the first time and ran it, it leaked all over. The on body drain tube was difficult to figure out so I left it set till I could get it figured out but unfortunately the white plastic nut broke as I was screwing it back on. 😢 Is this covered by the warranty 🙏

Not the most powerful dishwasher, and the manual leaves something to be desired, but it does the job, is easy to use, doesn't take up much room, and it wheels around easily when the casters are unlocked.

Great for limited space, easy to move around and hook up to faucet. Would like to have a bit more clearance where the tubes attach to the bottom of the dishwasher, as it was a bit cumbersome to fully tighten the hoses to prevent leaks, but once its done and fully tightened it should be good. Dishwasher performs very well
