@kcjreads •Dark Matter, By: Blake Crouch ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ This one has been in my TBR pile for the last couple years, & with is being a little bit of science-fiction (not typically something I get into)- it kind of just kept getting bumped down the line. But I actually REALLY liked this one! It was SO UNIQUE! It definitely wasn’t all sci-fi vibes, it’s definitely a thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time, mixed with a little love story. It is super binge-able & a fun little ride! I did appreciate how much this book made me think about what we take for granted. How our struggles & potential regrets are someone else’s ideal life. It made me want to squeeze my family & pets a little harder after finishing this book. The idea of a multiverse filled with our “other selves” that have made different decisions, is actually pretty cool to me. The writing was very descriptive & I liked how I could REALLY feel how much Jason loved HIS Daniela & Charlie. The setting in the Midwest was fun for me to read, how he grew up in Iowa & settled in Chicago. Totally recommend this one!✨ (Fun Fact: They actually just released this as a tv show on AppleTV this year, starring Jennifer Connelly & Joel Edgerton.) “Are you happy with your life?” Those are the last words Jason Dessen hears before the kidnapper knocks him unconscious. Before he awakens to find himself strapped to a gurney, surrounded by strangers in hazmat suits. Before a man he’s never met smiles down at him and says, “Welcome back, my friend.” In this world he’s woken up to, Jason’s life is not the one he knows. His wife is not his wife. His son was never born. And Jason is not an ordinary college professor but a celebrated genius who has achieved something remarkable. Something impossible. Is it this life or the other that’s the dream? And even if the home he remembers is real, how will Jason make it back to the family he loves? From the bestselling author Blake Crouch, Dark Matter is a mind-bending thriller about choices, paths not taken, and how far we’ll go to claim the lives we dream of.” #blakecouch #darkmatter #bookreview #bookrecommendations #whattoread #likeforlikes #bookstagram #kcjreads
