Q: May I ask why every recjipe calls for cottage cheese? Is it totally neccessary? Is there a substitute or can it be eliminated? I was ready to use it today and eagerly searched the recipes. None were without cottage cheese.
A: Hello! Thank you for purchasing the Dash Egg Bite Maker. The cottage cheese is used to add flavor and texture but you are free to sub it out of course! Some common substitutes for cottage cheese include greek yogurt, sour cream, ricotta cheese etc. Hope this helps!
submitted byDash Support Team - 3 years agoBrand expertA: A lot of people on low carb high protein use cottage cheese for extra protein. Especially for Bariatric Surgery patients who have high protein intake levels.

Q: Can this be uaed to also make fried eggs?
A: Hello! Thank you for your question. The Dash Egg Bite Maker is designed to cook eggs similar to a sous vide style. The silicone cups are removable and there is a heated cooking surface underneath. However, we do also offer a Mini Griddle that would be great for fried eggs!
