This brief essay of thoughts by Zoé Valdés narrates the life experience from the perspective of a Cuban exile, deeply affected by the totalitarian communist regime in her country. However, her reflections go further and, through her personal meditation and experiences, the author exposes how the Cuban exile, compared to the Jewish exodus, is a constant struggle for survival and identity in a world that, curiously, does not seem interested in the victims of communism.
