Design Toscano Bashful Wood Sprite Wall Sculpture

Beautiful detail. She's now becoming a part of the trunk of my 40 foot Scotch Pine and watches you hidden in plain sight.

I’m very happy with the design and the quality of the plaque. I’ve had it for a couple of years on Minnesota, and it held up to the weather. I wish this were a series.

This wall sculpture is actually a mythological greenwoman (or green women) that's also a wood sprite. *** One interpretation for a greenwoman is that she's a personification of nature or she gives a face to nature. *** A sprite (or spirit) is a diminutive, supernatural entity in European mythology. *** Being supernatural means she has supernatural powers like being able to shape-shift, becoming invisible, etc. *** For this particular sprite, she is found in the "wood" (a dense growth of trees larger in area than a grove but smaller than a forest). *** In this sculpture, she attempts to hide her identity (due to her bashfulness or shyness) behind her branched fingers. *** This sculpture has a two-tone finish (light green/off white). *** Unlike the picture displayed above, she doesn't have black eyes so what I did, using black marker, was put a black dot in the middle of each white eye. *** Finally, this sculpture actually weighs less than 2 pounds (not 3 pounds as indicated above) *** [Toscano exclusive; (W x D x H) inches = (9 x 5 x 13), weight (lb) = 2; angled keyhole slot in back for hanging.]

I absolutely love Bashful Wood Sprite! I kept trying to talk myself out of it and I finally just had to order it. I was originally going to put it outside, but it's so cute it's going to hang out in my living room with my houseplants.

A sweet figural wall piece that speaks of lively, bashful mischief. A lot of bang for your hard earned buck.

I am using this outside on a rustic wall. It goes well with weathered wood. It’s in an outdoor dining area.

Great piece with excellent detail. Wish it had more colors, but adding a touch of our own really made the piece come to life. We added watered green to the leaves and a bit of fine-line permanent marker around the eyes and in the pupils - now its eyes follow you!

Typically not something I would enjoy but this will find a permanent spot on my porch keeping an eye on my wayward hummingbirds. The colors and textures cause interesting shadows and make the face change appearance.

I got purchased this wall decoration a long time ago and kept it tucked away until we finally started decorating. I've had her up for a few months now and get so many compliments. It's exactly what I expected.

This is my fifth sculpture by this artist. Well made, installs easily, and gives a personality to each of my trees. Wish other pieces were available. My neighbors did not know that these existed, and I always receive positive comments about them.

So glad I got two of these. Way more lovely than online. Fabulous color shading. Graceful lines. And just a wee bit unnerving. Love them madly! They’re quite easily mounted, too. Great guardian. Get one!

I bought this to accompany my other forest faces from toscano. I have made up little stories about them and my neighbourhood children always check on them and want to know about their adventures GREAT FUN

I purchased this to give to my sister for Christmas. I know she is going to love it. She loves this type of art and so do I. The quality is great and the details are wonderful. Now I want one for myself. I don't know yet how this is going to hold up over time. I believe this will in the garden shed and not exposed to the elements.

Came Well Packed. Deducting Two Stars Since The Face Color Isn't As Light As It Is In The Picture And Is Difficult To Detect From The Rest Of The Sculpture Especially From A Distance. This Is My Second Item From Design Toscano Official Site And The Lack Of Attention To Painting Detail Is Problematic. Have Purchased Several Design Toscano Items Prior To This Site And The Detailed, Intense Coloration Is Exquisite.

I bought this for my birthday (beginning of Sept.) and I'm extremely pleased with her! Looks great on my wall in my living room. I just love the little thing!! it was packaged carefully and arrived on time!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love her, she adds life to the out door décor of our gazebo area. Placed on our back wall of the gazebo, we placed her with some of her friends. We have had many comments on the Toscano art, and all have been positive.

Love it. Hangs on my exterior home wall between front windows overlooking the "Fairy Door" we also purchased from Design Toscano we placed with a wood fence around the tree in our front yard. Have had nice comments from the neighbors.
