From explosive chord work to high velocity leads, DigiTech's Gunslinger Mosfet Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal has the touch sensitivity, string-separation and saturation to do all dirty work. The Gunslinger packs features like separate Low and High tone controls, a wide range of gain, tons of output, and choice of 9V or 18V operation to keep on target and in control. The Gunslinger's brushed-metal housing looks as tough as it sounds and its true-bypass circuitry keeps tone pristine.The Gunslinger's Mosfet circuit clips at a gradual, steady rate when overdriven, offering clipping properties and harmonics similar to those from preamp tubes in a guitar amp. The Gunslinger is designed to react to the dynamics of playing. The distortion will œclean up when play softly and become more aggressive when dig in and attack strings.The Gunslinger offers independent Gain, Level, Low (Tone) and High (Tone) controls. Its true-bypass circuitry allows guitar tone to remain pristine even when the Gunslinger is off and its modern 9V DC power supply input and compact size make it pedalboard friendly.

This isn't your versatile, everyday pedal, though one could easily form their core sound around it. What it does do is something like no other distortion pedal I've used (hundreds). It has a unique sound and vibe but remains clear and define. Note that the EQ controls and very interactive with the gain levels and usually require turning the HIGH down quite a bit as gain goes up. It takes some experimentation, but if you're looking to have an arsenal of diverse sounds, this could easily fit a niche.
