Dr. Brown's Options+ Baby Bottle

These are the right size for little baby hands to learn to hold on their own (for us that was around 9-10 months). Our kids did not need to use a bottle until then. The vent works well to keep air out of bottle, so it is worth the extra effort to clean and keep up with. We tried so many kinds of bottles and after 2 kids these are the ones we landed on because of the slim size and because they are compatible with ready to feed formula in 8 oz containers. We bought the 4oz Dr. Brown slim neck bottles for this purpose and we take them everywhere. We just use the top with the vent and screw into the formula bottle. It works great for on the go. Word of caution, they leak like a sieve whether you use as a complete bottle or screw into the formula bottle. It helps to not fill above the line, but sometimes it leaks anyway. We always monitor while the bottle is being drank to avoid a mess and use a burp cloth, bib, or napkin under baby's chin. I have found you can stop the leaking while feeding by turning the bottle a quarter turn. Must be when the vent is turned a certain way that there can be a constant drip. The quarter turn trick works to stop the leak. Overall, since we used bottles starting at 9 months these were perfect. We used the tops of these Dr. Brown bottles for on the go. At 9 months we started with the number 2 nipple and then the number 3 for these Dr. Brown bottles. Once baby was taking 8oz of formula we switched to the Nuk 8oz soft top sippy cup bottles with handles. The Nuk sippy cups were an easy transition at around 9-10 months from a bottle and they have a vent built into the top (so only 2 parts to clean plus handles and lid). Overall If I went back I would buy about 5-6 of these Dr. Brown 4 oz bottles to use starting around 9 months or earlier and skip the Mam ones (with lots of parts to take apart and assemble) and skip the Avent ones that were not as good of size on top or around for baby to hold at 9 months. Most of the other bottles available are the wide neck variety and I wish I would have known there is really no benefit to using the wide neck kind, as the narrow neck bottles worked better for us.

Seems perfect quality. Bottle is thin and easy for baby’s to hold. Nipple is slim. But, super leaky

I got these as a sample when I was pregnant from the target welcome bag and loved the design and how it's anti colic . But recently I've been noticing that they grow mold very easily especially in the green valve that comes in the bottle. Also the top of the bottle is a little small and formula spills everywhere.

The 2 bottles I have were gifted thankfully. It seems like a good bottle with a great vent system for gas, colic etc. However it leaks pretty bad where the nipple and ring connects and around the area of the ring and bottle. I’ve noticed space all around the nipple and ring to the point I can slide my nail into the side of it. Mind you the nipple came attached to the bottle already so it’s no like I assembled it improperly.

This bottle gave my baby horrible collic, caused spitting up and gas. Bottle also leaks like crazy, stay away from these bottles!

Dislike. The bottles leak too much.

Been using these since day and one love them. Yes they are a pain to clean and take time but it's worth it my daughter

I like these bottles but I found the anti colic parts didn’t really help that much and were hard to clean so we just prefer to use the bottles without them.

These bottles leak all the time. They come with a stopper for travel, but they also leak while baby is drinking out of them. The anti-colic feature is great but also annoying and time consuming to clean.

Leak after one week of usage.

We’ve been using these bottles for 3 months and they leak so bad. It’s so annoying. Baby is soaked in milk and we can’t tell how many ounces he’s actually eating. The preemie nipples are amazing and it’s the reason we continue to use these bottles because although our baby wasn’t a preemie, he drinks too fast and he chokes on other nipples. I wish they would fix this issue.

My daughter is very picky when it comes to her bottle she doesn’t accept most of the nipples we tried dr brows and she was able to latch on from the 1st try . Very easy to clean and leak free.

My baby loved them! Easy to clean and can be used with or without the insert.

The bottles leak and my baby cant figure out how to get the milk out.

My son absolutely loves these bottles. These are the only bottles he will use. I personally love this type over the natural flow of this brand because the bottle would leak more with the natural flow than than this specific brand. Now granted these can be a pain to clean sometimes but as long as you keep the little brush that comes with the bottle, you are golden.

The only bottles that help my babies colic. Bought them in 2016, and still have them in 2023! Bought some new ones recently and still love them. Hate cleaning them though!

Using for both breastmilk and formula. Originally, I bought them just so I could screw the collar/nipple onto Similac 2oz nursette bottles. That was very convenient when first home from the hospital and we were cleared to stop using the sterile single use Similac nipples. Unfortunately that’s where the positives end. These bottles leak SO badly. So, if you like your baby being covered in breastmilk or formula every time you feed them, these are great. If not…try something else (having much better luck with Mam). 3 stars because my baby does latch well onto the nipple and we have been able to use them with the nursettes.

Leaky bottles. Absolutely regret purchasing this bottle. Accidentally left the bottle on my bed, leaked all over my duvet.

I love these bottles for avoiding a colicky baby, wonderful. I haven't had any issue with colic so far, however, they leak if they aren't standing upright. They've leaked in my diaper bag, they've leaked in my pocket. How in the world can you ha e a leaky baby bottle? That is enough to make me gi e a low rating. It's sad because they're great bottles but the fact that they leak is extremely annoying.
