Earth Balance Original Buttery Spread is a butter alternative that offers all the deliciousness of butter without the dairy. It's a non dairy butter substitute that is gluten free and made with no hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils, and it contains 60% less saturated fat than butter per serving. We have been using this butter for as long as I can remember and now I can't handle the taste. I was hoping it was just a bad container, but unfortunately it is not. We are so sad and need to find a new butter to use

I've been buying this product for years, but the tub I have now is impossible to use! It's so hard that I've broken measuring spoons trying to get the product out. Forget about spreading it across a piece of bread! Unless I see something that lets me know that you've returned to the original recipe, I won't be buying it again.

This used to be my vegan go to spread but the new formula is awful. The butter doesn’t spread. You have to scrape chips off of it. It’s hard and dry. Whoever approved this change needs to be fired. I’ll never buy it again.

I love this buttery spread. Several years ago, a dietitian recommended this product as part of anti-cancer diet. I love the taste and smooth texture. I'm not sure if some buyers got a bad batch, but I think it tastes just as good as always. I buy it frequently.

I have bought this for years and I am very disappointed that the product has been changed or the worst. It is impossible to spread now, like a rock. Why do this? I will have to find an alternate brand.

I was a very happy customer and only used your product until the recipe changed. It is now horrible tasting. How did anyone approve that change in taste? I would not recommend it to anyone. Please go back to the original recipe.

This was always my favorite butter until something happened. It tastes bad and I don't know why. There is no other butter I like besides that one coconut butter I can't find for years so I've been using this until the taste became bad. Can you please change it back to how it was please. It has never tasted so bad before

This used to be my favorite spread. Now something changed, not to the better. It doesn’t spread, it tastes really bad. So bad I will change to a different brand. I rather pay much more for something that tastes well.

Been using Earth Balance for 20yrs. Thought it was perfect for vegan baking/cooking. Now they ruined it!! Not sure how, but it used to soften at room temp after a few minutes, now solid rock! Suggests lipids went way up! Tastes horrid, like lard. Will never buy again.

No longer spreadable as of the last few tubs purchased - hard, waxy and crumbly as others have mentioned; tears bread repeatedly. Please bring back the previous formulation. I’ve used this product for ages and will now be looking for a replacement. Bummer.

I have been buying this for years but the consistency of the last ones have changed. The new version is very hard and a pain to spread. That defeats the purpose of a “spreadable” margarine. I will stop buying this brand now.

So disappointed with whatever change was made to this product. It is hard to get out of the container and is not spreadable. It has become frustrating to use. I have switched to a different brand and will continue to do so until this issue has been fixed. I used to love this product. It was my go to for years.

This is a staple in our home, where we cannot digest lactose. Some of my family is very picky about substitutes and grew up consuming the real thing, so it says a lot that they enjoy this one. Due to concerns about soy in relation to hormones, we prefer the soy-free variety, although we enjoyed the original until we ran across this alternative. We use it in cooking, on toast or sandwiches, pan frying — exactly as you’d use any type of butter. And best of all, it’s healthier! Using products like Earth Balance, we’ve had record low cholesterol.
