These were great with the Egg-mazing spinner and those markers. The colors turned out vibrant and shiny. Kids loved it! These were terrible with the paint included. It didn’t stick to the eggs and colors barely showed up. Took a long time to dry also. Would purchase again for use with the markers!

This item did not hold paint, these eggs are plastic not porous. Would not recommend for crafting.

Paint does not hold well to the eggs at all. I can't tell if it's the paint or the surface of the eggs, but the paint applies so thinly that the colors are not very bold or vibrant as shown in the pictures.

Nice set fun to do. Paint provided doesn't stick well. We used other paints we had & it worked a lot better.

These eggs are perfect for preschoolers—the kit comes with six colors of paint and can be displayed in the cute egg carton. Great size for little (or big) fingers and the correct amount of paint for the twelve eggs.

Paint doesn’t stick, egg dye doesn’t stick. Only thing that somewhat worked was permanent marker. Definitely a bummer

My kids enjoyed it for most part but if you have a picky kids that wants their paint to not smear everywhere don’t get these. If they were wood it would be way better but it is plastic.

Read reviews but I’m from an art background and refused to accept defeat. I received a damaged egg – which Target graciously replaced the whole set for free to make up for it – so I decided to use that egg to experiment and find a solution. Which I did! See photos. Process for each number listed below. Jump to #8 for best result. 1 No prep. One coat of blue paint provided. 2 No prep. Two coats of blue paint provided. 3 No prep. Three coats of blue paint provided. 4 Prep: First coat in white. Let dry a few minutes then painted one coat of blue paint provided. 5 Prep: First coat in white. Let dry a few minutes then painted two coats of blue paint provided. 6 No prep. Painted one coat of another brand’s multi-surface acrylic craft paint. (This worked well, but not smoothest result. Also requires an additional purchase. Keep reading for best results with included supplies.) 7 Prep: Sanded with fine grit sand paper (220 grit). Wiped with alcohol-soaked pad to remove excess grit. One coat of green paint provided. 8 Prep: Sanded with fine grit sand paper (220 grit). Wiped with alcohol-soaked pad to remove excess grit. Two coats of green paint provided. Following #8 instructions, I got the best, smoothest, coat of paint with minimal brush strokes. Paint laid down with good color intensity on second coat. I would suggest sanding all eggs with 220 grit, fine sand paper, then wiping down with alcohol-soaked pad to remove any remaining grit. Also, if you are prepping for use with younger kids, since it requires two coats for best results, you can go one step further and pre-paint all eggs with a solid color (like white) and let dry. This way, when they paint their first coat of color, it will lay down smooth and be the only necessary coat. (Unless they want a more intense color and then your kids - or you 😉- can choose to paint a second coat of color.) Hope this tutorial helps someone!
