All three of my kids love this game; it's easy enough that my three year old can play (sort of) but my second-grader is still into it as well.
Excellent game for preschoolers!

We absolutely love this game. It is one of the few games that is both simple and engaging enough for my 3-year-old to play from start to finish. It is compact and easy to take along on trips which is convenient. It's a great game to teach patterns/colors to young children. The only downside is that the cards can easily get bent if you have a rough crowd of boys like we do.
Such a simple, but fun way to practice patterns

My 3 year old daughter LOVES this game. She was able to pick up the game after one explanation. A huge plus of the game is that my preschool daughter who doesn't know how to read can play the game successfully. She has been able to teach her older brother how to play the game. Our favorite way to play is the original game, but I love how Educational Insights added a 2nd version to the game. This gives the game a new twist after your child has played it for a long time. The game has colorful outfits with no two outfits/backgrounds that are similar. Another huge plus for the game is how small and compact it is. The box is about tall as a chapter book, so it is easy to carry from place to place. I can see us taking it on the go and playing it outside of the home or even on vacation. If you are looking for a game to play with your preschool child, this is the perfect game to play with them.

I brought it camping so that the kids could play and they loved it! They thought it was funny that the koalas started in their underwear and then that they got to roll the dice to dress them! My daughter also enjoyed playing with it by herself... Overall, it was fun!

Our preschool just received Koala Capers, and all ready it is a favorite. Everyone quickly learned the concept of the game, and was able to explain the rules to their friends. This is a great game to help support matching skills, creating patterns, stacking, color recognition, and understanding symbols. My student's favorite part was rolling the dice and getting the underwear symbol. This meant that their koalas had to put their clothes away and start over in their underwear. This game created tons of laughs in the classroom and I know it will continue too, all while learning as a cooperative group. Thank you Educational Insight for this fantastic game!
A simple but fun learning game!

My 3 kids LOVED this game. I really liked it too! I normally worry about liking kids games because I have to play with them. Koala Capers is a game easy enough for my 3, 5, and 6 year old to play on their own but it also keeps them engaged and interested. My oldest loves explaining and helping my youngest with what pattern and what type of clothing to look for. They all love the colorful, fun outfits and I hear giggles from them the whole time they play this game. I love that this game helps them connect shapes and patterns in a fun and cute way! I would recommend this to anyone with young children.
A very cute game - great for siblings!

This is such a cute game! My kids (4 and 6 year-old's) loved the little koalas in their underwear. The outfits are diverse and fun, although I think there was a missed opportunity to provide some background information about the outfits. I didn't realize until later that the premise of the game was choosing outfits for a trip; the game is fun regardless, but the connection wasn't very clear. My children thought that the underwear roll was hilarious, and if there were no outfits left with the corresponding pattern, the next player took her/his turn. Both the underwear roll and missing pattern made the game more challenging and fun. As for packaging, I love how small the box is and how the koalas and outfits all stack up so nicely - it will be easy to take these on trips. I am curious, though, how well the koala heads will hold up over time; it didn't seem super sturdy. Overall, a very enjoyable game!

I received this game along with Raccoon Rumpus and I cannot get enough! There are so many reasons why I love this game.
1. It's simple. The age range says 3+ but my son who is almost 3 understands the game and can play and have fun along with the family. It's simple enough that you can help even younger children play and be a part of the fun. The concept is so simple that it sure makes yourself wonder why you haven't thought of something so clever (but that's what Educational Insight is so good at doing!).
2. You can differentiate the game to really hit any child's level of understanding. I played with a group of children ranging from almost 2 to 4 and I just differentiated the game to fit each child's needs to be fun, yet educational. The younger kids would roll the dice and then I would tell them what to pick up and give them 2 different options to choose from, the older kids would roll the dice and recite what they were looking for and find the outfits on their own.
3. Though the game is simple, there are 2 different games you can play (plus you can get creative and make up your own game). The memory game is a fun game that can last a solid 30 minutes which I feel is a very long time to have your children engaged in one activity, but that's how much fun it is! The children loved the memory game and it was challenging but not too difficult that the kids gave up.
Unlike the Raccoon Rumpus (where the raccoon has a different occupation) the Koalas are located in a different part of the world. Personally I liked the occupation cards a bit better for my age group that I had since it was a bit more difficult to explain parts of the world but at least it opens up a door to educate them and get out a map and learn something new.
Love the game and will absolutely recommend it to my friends, and even buy a few for gifts :)

My kids are big fans of Raccoon Rumpus and this game plays similarly, only with patterns. It's awesome for them to learn to recognize patterns in a fun way. The game is compact and a lot of fun to play with their grandparents and again, I LOVE that they can play by themselves because of the simple rules that they can easily understand. Another one that I often recommend to friends. My kids are 5&3.
SO much fun!!

We received this game for a review and all my kids (ages 10, 8, 6, 4) have loved it! It is nice to have a game that is enjoyable and easy for a large age range. There are two ways to play which adds even more variety. I really like that the instructions are on the box so we don't have to worry about losing them. I highly recommend this game!

We received this game in exchange for an honest opinion and review. I hadn't heard of this game before, and I'm so glad we got it. It's a great game. It is fun, somewhat educational, it has very minimal set-up required (so my kids can play it by themselves!) and it goes really quickly (like 5 minutes). My boys are 4 and 7 and they really enjoyed it.
The premise is to collect 5 outfits for your koala, by matching the pattern on the dice to the pattern on the outfits. If you roll a pair of underpants on the dice, you lose all the outfits you've collected, which my boys thought was hilarious.
The one thing that could be improved was that the outside of the box advertises that the koalas come from all different countries. While there are definitely geographical and cultural differences in the outfits worn by each koala, nowhere does it actually print the name of the country on each outfit/koala. It would've been nice to see this, to help the kids make the connection and learn something. So, I found this to be a "missed opportunity" in terms of education and cultural awareness, but in no way does this affect the enjoyment of the game.
This would be a great gift for kids in the 3-5 year old range, maybe a young 6 yr old. My 7-yr old really likes playing with his brother, but it is probably a little bit young for him as the intended recipient.
Fun, educational game for all ages!

Who would have thought that koalas would be such a big hit?! We played this as a family when we first received it and each child enjoyed it at every age (9,7,4,2)! Instructions are easy enough for even young children to understand and the inclusion of the "underwear" option on the die got everyone giggling. My kids have since played this game with friends when they come over and it is still being played with weeks later. I plan on buying more for gifts! Great game!
I received this game for review but all opinions are my own.
