Educational Insights Playfoam Pluffle Sensory Station, Sensory Bin for Toddlers, Ages 3+

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 2 year old daughter was so excited to try this product. It has a few things to keep her busy, but unfortunately she got bored after a few days. It's a cute idea, but I don't feel like it's lasting entertainment. I also think it would be better if it was sand because the little shredded pieces get everywhere.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited to give this to my kids for Easter.(Aged 2&3) Upon opening it I realized it had glitter in it. I personally hate glitter and the mess it makes(sticking to your hands and everything else so I was turned off by that). The material is like a finely shredded foam ball. I thought it would stick together a little and then fall apart. I would say it didn't stick together at all. It does come with a fun scoop, roller and a cup. My kids loved the scoop and cup but couldn't care less about the roller. When you play with it it looks like it's moving around like the underside of a starfish which I thought was very cool looking. Overall I do not think this was worth it and would not buy it again or recommend it to a friend. It was cool. My kids had fun for a bit. But will I ever bring it out to play again? Maybe occasionally, I feel there's better options out there.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was so much fun to use. It's a great "in between" product to molding dough and sand. I love that it isn't messy at all! It is so easy to just scoop back up and put in the bin. My kids had so much fun playing with this. They loves that it fit into the cups and molds that we used, but it bounced back to its regular form eventually.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toy is fun and engaging, but it is very messy. Be sure to lay out a mat or something underneath the toy before letting your kids play with it. It gets EVERYWHERE. We have to vacuum up some particles after each play, so this toy only lasts for as long as you can contain the particles within the bowl.

Even though it's labeled 3+ years my 18 month had to join in the fun and it was a wonderful sensory activity for her.

This is so unique and a great way to use hands on sensory activities. It is not messy which is a huge bonus, fun to play with and long lasting - it does not dry out. I highly recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm hard on sensory bins. I have three children, ages 6, 4, and 1, and I am a first and second grade teacher. My kids have been doing sensory bins since my oldest could sit up. We LOVE sensory bins. I have a lot of things that I look for in sensory bins, and this one is ALMOST perfect. Let's Go through my criteria. Child interest. This one is first because it's most important. No matter how messy or visually boring, if my kids will quietly play with it for an extended amount of time, I'll do it. And this sensory bin does that. My two older kids played with it easily and without fighting for half an hour. If you have more than one kid, be aware that it only comes with one of the tools. We already had some, so it wasn't a big deal for us. Texture. This is a new texture for us. It reminds me of the paper bedding that you get for the bottom of hamster cages, but very finely chopped. Soft, not really moldable. It was not a texture that we previously had in a sensory bin, so thats a plus. Visual Interest. Basically, is it pretty? This one is. The colors don't stay separated for long, but they are bright and contrasting. Storage. This is a big one. We easily have a dozen sensory bins, so storage is important. This one also has two parts. Can it store? Basically if you store it, is it going to dry out, mildew, smell funny, or anything like that? This one does store well. No drying out. The other part is does it store conveniently. This is the one big flaw. There is NO LID. The tub is an odd shape, which is fine, but because of that, there is no easy way to give it a lid. It's not going to dry out, but it very well may spill, which is a problem. Also odd shape tub = difficult stacking. Clean up. This probably isn't for you if your kids have never done a sensory bin before and have no concept of "It stays IN THE BIN." It's not a big deal to clean up the little messes that spill over when they're playing (and the sides are tall, so those are minimized), but if your kids is going to walk around and sprinkle it like a flower girl, you're going to have a hard time. Also, the material seems to attract dog hair, so if you're like me and have two large shedding dogs, your sensory bin will be half base material, half dog hair, but in our house that's not uncommon. Overall, YES. This is a great sensory bin. I personally will probably put the base material in a different container with a lid, but the base material and tools are great!

It is a great alternative to sand or kinetic sand. We have hidden items as a search and find which is exciting. We have also just "built" with the pluffle. My son's biggest complaint is that it doesn't hold it's shape well. My biggest complaint was the glitter mixed in. We are a family who enjoys crafts and not afraid of glitter but it would have been nice for a warning of sparkle mixed in.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids have had countless hours of fun with the Playfoam Pluffle Sensory Station. I have 3 children ages 10, 7 and 4 and it's most popular with my 4 and 7 year old. It's alot of fun and satisfying. The tools it comes with are really simple to use and are durable. The texture is really light, fluffy and non-sticky and I don't have to worry about it drying out. It gives my kids countless hours of fun building "sandcastles" just to watch it "crawl" back down. It really is such an interesting texture.

He will play with the Pluffle for hours, using his imagination to make ice cream, bury and dig for treasure, and just scoop and dump over and over. I love that it is easier to clean up that other sensory type items and does not stick to skin or get ground into the floor. I will definitely be getting more colors to add to our collection in the near future. Overall, this is a great sensory station for toddlers providing hours of imaginative play with minimal mess.

The Playfoam Pluffle Sensory Station is the perfect indoor alternative! They spend hours mixing, pouring and playing. It's super cool to watch it expand when it's poured out of something! It can be a bit messy, but it's totally worth it for the fun!

She loved mixing the two colors in the beginning. My daughter started playing with this with her kitchen stuff, pretending to cook and was occupied for 20 minutes before she was done playing. I think this is a good sensory play activity. I liked that eventhough it has glitter the glitter didn't get everywhere. The clean up is a little pain but not too bad.
