Epson EcoTank ET-M3170 Wireless Monochrome All-in-One Supertank Printer

I'd give it 5 STARS but it only lasted 5.5 years. But while it worked it was EXCELLENT! Quick, scan and wireless printing, Inexpensive ink!! Great customer service!!!

This printer replaced my older B&W toner printer. So far I've printed about 600 pages on it. I feel fairly confident it will last many years of use. I think it's a great alternative to toner printers, with savings and environmental benefits. (Toner is microplastics which get fused onto the page) I like the paper tray design a lot. The printer body is plastic and I do wish it had a stronger feel to it. My only downside with this printer is that it can't print 8.5x14" legal size documents. But otherwise I think this is a well designed and solid printer which can easily replace any toner laser printer. It has a good scanner too.

Although it appears this is set to be easy , i struggled with set up for a couple hours. disc would not boot, then I went to site for driver download, wifi connected but not on the win10 side, had to address this siiue, then registration , had to set up a new acct although i have one and have a epson scanner on it, then had to lift the whole thing up just to read the sn#. It appears abit noisy and clinky inside. Ink was abreeze though, well thought out, kudos on that one.

I use quality paper in this printer and virtually EVERY start up it jams over and over and over. Finally after clearing the machine 4 or 5 times in a row, it will start up and run nicely. Don't waste your money.

I bought this a couple of months ago and the scanner never works! The scanner is constantly in need of updates, and there is always a communication error. At least the printer and fax work fine. I've been on the phone with Epson technical support several times. I can't believe what a time sink this is - I purchased something more expensive than I normally would to make life easier not more difficult. I'm shocked by all of the amazing reviews.

I brought my printer over a month ago. the auto feeder all ready stop working . I was really disappointed in this printer.

I have had two generations of HP Laser Jets and they always lose connectivity to Windows based computers. HP printers though, never lost connectivity to our OSX computers. This Epson printers NEVER loses connectivity and it prints super fast in comparison to the HP all-in-one printers. It does not get 5 stars because its scanning suite and scanner portion are no competition to the HP. HP software allowed for easy creation of destination network folders. Unfortunately Epson's software is just not as robust or easy to use.

its work great but there is a problem, if i print couple of pages and after 3 or 4 pages one or two pages have some lines that are in italic. i don't know why?

We needed to replace our old printer as it would not hold up to three people working from home. This unit is reliable, relatively quiet, and out produces our old printer by a quantum leap. I really like that it has an ink "tank" instead of the cartridges like the old unit. The only drawback is that it is Black only, but as everything we print doesn't need to be in color, that is just fine. The footprint is smaller that the old unit and it can scan, fax and print. PERFECT!

We purchased two of these for our home based business. The printing quality is equal to our laser printers! I am thrilled with that as this does not print like a usual inkjet. Impressed beyond with that! Savings: Unbelievable as we print literally hundreds of pages a day... the ink cartridge does not seem to lessen! Insanely happy about that! Overall this is a great machine! Cons: I can't stand the printing software! It is like going back 20 years in time and is sloppy and antiquated - two steps up from DOS (I hope they upgrade this for us, as it would have been a deal breaker for me had I known in advance). The paper tray is a bit odd, but, I can live with it. Truly, the shining star of this machine is its printing quality and cost savings one will receive from not having to purchase ink and/or cartridges. Epson: if you all really listen to your clients: please update the scanning software so it is not so antiquated. Otherwise, love the machine!

Very nice printer. It was a long process to set this machine up, but the quality of prints are worth the time and effort. This machine prints 20 pages per minute and was put to the test this morning. The result were very consistent with the claim of 20 pages per minutes and perfect prints for over one hundred page document. So far I am pleased with this investment.

I do a lot of printing and when I say a lot I mean it. I print daily for my stores and print nonstop invoices, schedules, menus and stock sheets. I always burn through so much ink so when I got this Epson EcoTank ET-M3170 I was blown away. The refillable ink is just amazing and very easy to fill. The bottle of ink can print 6000 pages!! Yes I said that right 6000 pages. Most of documents are black and white anyways so this was a huge perk for me. This Epson ET-M3170 is also incredibly fast at printing its almost instant when click print. You can also print on both sides of the page to save on paper. Also you can feed documents from the top and have over 30 documents in the feeder , and again its lighting fast at making the copies. Setup was very simple and I was setup , connected to Wi-Fi, and up and running within no time. Setup was simple and easy. The Wi-Fi printing is also an incredible feature and can easily print from my phone, table, or laptop. Also it holds a bunch of paper in the tray. Overall I am incredibly impressed and has well exceeded my expectations. Also the replacement ink will save me a bunch of money instead of always going out and buying cartridges for my old printer. Im so happy that I have this EcoTank ET-M3170 Wireless monochrome All-in-one supertank printer, it has so many great features! Let's start with how simple the set up was for this printer, its a simple step by step guide anyone with a lack of technology could figure it out pretty quick as well. My printer was ready to go within the hour. I was a little worried to begin with dealing with the ink during set up but it was all in my mind it was a simple flip and wait. Let's talk about the features for this All-in-One printer. I am using this printer in my home as I do alot of printing in my free time with my projects. With this printer I'm not having to worry about ink as much anymore because the supertank is used very efficient the amount of ink used isn't as much as other printers but yet it works perfectly. I love this EcoTank ET-M3170 Wireless Monochrome All-in-One Supertank Printer. I have never owned a wireless printer before so I was excited to get this set up for my home! The step by step instructions were clear and easy to follow. You have to fill up the ink bank with the enclosed ink bottle and follow the printers on screen directions to charge the ink for about 10 minutes. Then theres a 4 page alignment printing test to click through. After that is done connecting the printer to my wireless connection was quick. All of the instructions on the included CD installation software were easy to follow with on my laptop. I love that now I can print something while sitting on my couch on my laptop! My daughter has been copying some of her artwork and making even more art as new copies. We love this printer! I am very impressed with this printer. I did have a very hard time with setup it took my over a hour and half. The installation kept freezing soon as you get to the set-up part. I tried with the cd disk and tried downloading the software from the epson site. I finally realized I should restart my internet router. I waited a few minutes after the router start up and guess what it finally worked and finished set-up like a breeze. This printer is very simple to use. The ink installation (comes with start-up ink bottle) was very easy a person with no technology knowledge could use this. The paper was easy to load in the tray. I send all my paperwork from my phone to the printer when I am in a hurry and can't get on my laptop. I also can make many copies within seconds I used the fax a few times and sent all my documents without any long wait times or problems. I haven't had no paper jams yet and thats a plus.This printer is a very convenient tool to have in my office and not too big I am pleased and happy with this printer. one of the first things that I noticed about this printer was the touch screen capabilities. Wow! I didn't think that I would be able to connect to it as fast as I did with my IPhone! aside from it being so easy and fast to connect it I can also fax! there are a variety of options to connect if youre having issues with your mobile. I connected to my email and printed out some much need menus for an upcoming catering event. I cannot wait to try the different paper options for my menus. In a rushed moment on my part I forgot recently to print out an invoice for a meeting. Quickly I connected to my laptop and made some minor adjustments to my invoice. I cannot praise the speediness of this printer enough! I was rushed literally 20 minutes until my meeting in which I still needed to drive to. it saved the day! I couldn't be happier with this model, it fits every need for my catering events! it also comes in handy for last minute printing needs for my daughter in 3rd grade.

I am going to start with how easy and quick to set it up. I have no problem connecting it first to my laptop and then tried the mobile printing as well. I just follow all the instructions carefully, so I will not fail because I had a history failures towards setting up a new printer. But this time it was breezy and no headache occur. I got this printer about a month ago. It is definitely a great printer to use at home or in your office. I was very happy to use in our office for the first time. The printer we had was very old and not working well like it should have. I was glad to try this printer out because not only was it cartridge free, wireless, contained ADF, scan, and fax. My coworkers were very happy to receive this printer and how efficient it is to use. When opening up the box and setting up the printer it was easy because I took my time as well as followed and read the directions carefully. It worked fine and I tested the ink bottle when trying to print. It printed beautifully. I was amazed how quickly it printed on both sides and saved me time. It comes with enough ink to print 6,000 pages. You can save about 75% in energy consumption. I love our new Epson ET-M31170 ! The speed of this machine is incredible. It blows away our last printer. You have the fast / draft printing option and to me that is the best and most efficient. I have not yet printed photos however if black and white photos are your thing, this printer should be perfect. I appreciate the ink bottle for refills rather than buying cartridges, much cheaper.
