I give no product or service 5 stars but this Epson comes close. I used it once for an 11 x17 photo on old photo paper the day it arrived. Then it sat unused for 2 years while I used an MFP laser for day to day. I figured at least one head would be no good but had hope that with piezo heads it would be OK. When I fired it up because my laserr MFP was having a bad time the Epson printed perfectly. Same thing on the next several pages. Did normal pages and photos and it was a champ, even on 2-3 year old photo paper and semi-recent ordinary paper. I need a printer for our other house and it will be one of these.

Good value for the money. Easy to setup, vivid colors, very good print quality and good speed. Only thing is I wish it would print on 13 x 19" paper. Like the compact size. Very pleased with the purchase and would recommend for those that don't need print image larger than 11 x 17"

This printer has the capability to print incredible photos with great detail and accurate color. However, it has two significant weaknesses. The first is the ink. It just doesn't last long and is expensive to keep replacing if you plan on doing any sort of volume. Second, I have wasted a great deal of paper, digital negative film, and ink trying to get the printers print heads to align, and to clean the print heads that consistently clog. I use only Epson ink, and use it regularly. However, it just seems to need maintenance every time I use it, and I burn through half my supplies just getting it to where it can print to its potential. I wanted this printer because I don't have a huge space for the typical 13"W photo printer. However, I think I will be purchasing something else soon as it is just not worth the tradeoffs.

Bought this printer to print copies of my paintings to sell. Love the ability to print oversize and on various art papers. But...that's the only good thing I have to say about it. If you are printing full page prints it sucks up ink. Ink cartridges are way too small. Also, I cannot get skin tones, oranges and reds to print correctly. Always too pink! No way to adjust the yellow saturation - only blue, red and green. Unless you want to spend time adjusting your original files in photoshop, I would not buy this printer! I also have the same issue as another reviewer with printing type. Lettering is blurry, not crisp as on other printers. One whole day it refused to pick up the paper, even after multiple attempts at reloading the tray and restarting the printer. Then suddenly the next day it decided to work. So it is pretty useless to me for documents and art prints - in other words at all.

I have had this printer for six years. I'm SO glad it's still made; I intend to purchase another one! I use it for business, personal photography, and church projects. The quality is excellent for my use. I use the program that came on my computer to print. Never, ever had a single problem with quality or production that wasn't operator error. Thank yo EPSON for an excellent printer!

I got this as an early Valentines Day gift so that I could do my own art prints in better quality. I have done a few test pictures and the printing is superb! Much better than my previous printer. The ink cartridges are very small, I would imagine that is costly to refill, but hopefully not a constant thing like my previous printer. Another note is the quick set up and even the size is great, a little bulky but effective.

I purchased the Epson Expression XP950 in March, 2015. It reached the end of it's useful life December 17, 2022. It looks like the XP970 is the updated version of my printer, so I'm reviewing here. I used this printer often and printed hundreds of beautiful borderless photos with it. I was disappointed when it suddenly quit last Saturday night because it has been so faithful all these years. I didn't use the 11x17 print size as much as I thought I would, so I'm purchasing the XP-8700 this time. I only hope it serves me as well as the 950. I've had several Epson printers over the years and for quality photos, you can't beat Epson.

I purchased this printer because I always used Epson printer for my entire Photography career starting from Stylus R800.. The printer started working very well and after 18 months it keeps showing "Paper Loading cassette" for both paper trails. I did everything Epson offers as Options for this matter and nothing works. Twice I've contacted Support that afterward asked me to call before 5pm while having the printer next to me. Thing I don't really have time to do because I'm always home after 5pm. For me the printer become my first deception with Epson brand.
