Removed them and placed a nail in furniture slider at each corner. Hight is now perfect. No evidence of structural damage.(use it as a foot rest only, not a bench)

The fabric on the right side isn't smooth, just a little wrinkled. However, I'm 81 and it took me 30 minutes to get it out of the box, so even though it's not quite perfect I'll keep it. It will probably outlive me.

The size is great for the space and fabric is nice. Unfortunately, the legs are plastic, NOT WOOD as described. Also, 2 of the legs were broken and the sharp edges damaged the fabric on the bottom of the ottoman. I’m not wasting time with a return since this is for my basement game room. I’ve got some wood scraps and will fashion some new legs, it will definitely be an improvement.
