Q: Title says for hardwood floors but the description says not for hardwood floors, use on carpet. Which one is this for? All pictures show cleats which is usually for carpet

We do not recommend placing this mat on hard floors as the grippers may damage your flooring and this will also create an uneven surface. Q: Does this mat have a lip? In the product description it say’s it does but in the pictures it does not. Confusing.

Too thin and flimsy. Spikes on the bottom aren't long enough to actually grip the (standard pile) carpets we have, so they shift around a lot. One of them cracked in multiple places just after the return window closed.

The Evolutionmat’ s grippers are designed to penetrate the surface of the carpet pile only and not reach the sub-flooring underneath, as this can cause damage to your carpet. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that this mat will stay in place on all carpet types, but there are a couple of tips we could offer to help prevent movement, such as re-measuring your carpet to ensure that the padding and the carpet is up to 3/8” thick. You can also reposition the mat so that the grippers are entering the carpet pile in a slightly different horizontal/vertical orientation, which may allow them to grip the carpet better for added stability. In this case, you may be eligible for a warranty replacement, please feel free to contact our customer services team for further information. Really happy with this purchase for my new home office. Fits perfectly, great quality, and has a textured underside so stays put on carpet. My chair is super heavy and even with wheels meant for rugs, it sunk into my low-pile carpet and wouldn't budge. Now it rolls easily and isn't damaging my carpet. Highly recommend this mat.

Smaller chair mat slides on carpet

This mat is slightly smaller than expected and lacks ramp edgs. It slides on carpet due to short pegs. Disappointing flaws, but not worth returning. Need to buy new mat.

We endeavor to manufacture our chair mats as close to our sizes as possible however due to the manufacturing process this is not always possible. Please note, all products come with a +/-5% tolerance. The grippers on the mat are there to help prevent movement, unfortunately we cannot guarantee that the mat will stay in place on all types of carpet. We suggest repositioning your chair mat so that the grippers are entering the carpet pile in a slightly different horizontal/vertical orientation. Making slight alterations on the mat position and alignment with the carpet pile may allow them to grip the carpet better for added stability. I purchased this brand instead of other lower cost options because the description said it shipped flat and I would have to wrestle a 4x5 foot mat and then train it to stay flat. It shipped rolled in a small box and rolled.

This came in the mail in a large flat cardboard box thing. It was unfolded, which was wonderful! No bends! Sturdy mat with spikes for carpeted areas.

With a heavy pile rug, it was difficult for my wife to move her chair between her art desk and her work table. We had tried a small, shorter pile rug, but that really wasn't good enough. Now, with this mat, which stays in place beautifully, she can roll merrily about.

I purchased this more expensive chair mat for my standard pile carpet in my home office. It has lasted less than a year, and now has 4 large holes all the way through the thickened plastic mat, making it now impossible to roll with my office chair. Completely defeats the purpose of having the mat to begin with!
