About the Author

JOSÉ MANUEL AZCONA PASTOR (Falces, 1962) es catedrático de Historia Contemporánea en la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos de Madrid, donde imparte la asignatura Historia del Mundo Actual, y director de la Cátedra Iberoamericana de Excelencia URJC Santander Presdeia. Ha sido profesor de Historia Contemporánea en la Universidad de Deusto, donde se doctoró en esta área con la tesis Los paraísos posibles. Historia de la emigración vasca a Argentina y Uruguay en el siglo XIX (1990), así como de Geografía en la UNED y de Historia Económica en la Escuela Oficial de la Cámara de Comercio de Bilbao (Universidad del País Vasco). Es máster en Cooperación y Seguridad en Iberoamérica por el CESEDEN. Autor de 190 trabajos científicos sobre emigración, violencia política y terrorismo y movimientos político-sociales contemporáneos, ha participado en congresos nacionales e internacionales y en estancias de investigación y como profesor invitado en prestigiosas universidades. Ha dirigido y participado en proyectos de investigación de carácter competitivo. En la URJC ha sido vicedecano de Alumnos, director de Actividades de Proyección Social y director de Actividades Culturales entre 2001 y 2013. Desde 2019 dirige la Universidad de Mayores. Es coordinador del Área de Historia Contemporánea de la URJC.MIGUEL MADUEÑO ÁLVAREZ (Madrid, 1978) es doctor en Humanidades por la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, con Premio Extraordinario por una tesis titulada El falangismo durante la democracia actual (1977-2019). Es licenciado en Historia por la UNED, especialista en Historia Militar por el IUGM, máster en España Contemporánea en el Contexto Internacional por la UNED y máster en Pensamiento Estratégico y Seguridad Global por la UGR. Es profesor ayudante doctor en el Área de Historia Contemporánea de la URJC e imparte la asignatura Historia del Mundo Actual. Es fundador y director de la revista digital Guerra Colonial, dedicada al estudio de las guerras coloniales, los procesos de descolonización, el neocolonialismo y las relaciones internacionales. Sus líneas de investigación profundizan en la historia del colonialismo y de sus conflictos, es autor de varios artículos y coordinador de obras colectivas.
