I got this for my 6 year old as a starter microscope. It's super fun and easy to use. No, it isn't a "real" microscope, you aren't seeing cells or anything to that magnitude, but for little kids I feel like it's a fun option that is very easy for them to use on their own.
So fun!

My daughter received this last Christmas from Santa and she absolutely loves it. We use it all the time whenever we see a big or something tiny and interesting and even her father and I use it if we get a splinter in our finger. It has really good magnification and is clear. Definitely a must have for exploring the world around you. Really cool toy.
Great gift!

This makes a great gift and I bought one for my son and two for my niece and nephew. They are small enough to pack in a backpack on a hike. Batteries have lasted a while. My only complaint is that I wish the magnification was a little higher. It also takes a lot of practice to hold it still to view something.
Problems.

You have to have 4 AAA batteries on hand. The USB did not connect to new Windows 10 on my computer. Not sure if USB or what. Didn't light up at first. Very low quality. Pictures only a smidgen better than my iphone. Getting a professional one. This may be good for children but the price does not reflect the poor quality. Sorry. I usually only write 5 star reviews. Also there are many pictures on the back of box that show that it only gets up slightly better than an iphone close up. Lot of trouble for nothing.

My 4 year old received this for his birthday and has been so engaged with it since the moment he opened it up. It was very easy to set up and not too complicated for him to get the hang of it quickly. If you have a curious child and you’re looking for a way to have them play independently, this is a great learning tool.

Let’s start out with I’m 29 and was looking for a microscope just to look at little stuff and screw around.. this turned out to be the best $50 purchase I have made in a while! The quality is great and it’s just super cool to have. I would recommend this 100x to anyone looking for a cheap, handheld microscope. It is seriously awesome!!
Good quality, fun for the whole family

This Christmas gift for our four-year-old grandson was a hit for the entire family.... including the parents, who are both in science-based careers. Excellent quality, easy to use and portable. Hours of fun.... and will continue to be a great learning tool.

This thing is AWESOME! For kids, much easier to use than an actual microscope where you have only the little eye piece to looks through. It works really really well, and it’s extremely easy to work with. My five year old was using it like crazy immediately after opening it Christmas morning. I think everything in our house has been magnified and photographed at this point.
Great educational toy!

This was a Christmas gift and it ended up being a huge disappointment. Not sure if we got a dud, but it is super blurry and does not focus. You can not see anything. Tried different settings too. Posting this review so other parents don’t make the same mistake.
Awesome toy for creative play!
