"PTFE" is basically the chemical name of the nonstick coating - it's the actual ingredient that makes the cookware "nonstick." Don’t waste your money. Lifetime guarantee is a joke. These pans are used on only low or medium low heat about once a week. Always hand wash. Never been in oven or dishwasher. I have never used metal tools; only silicone or nylon tools. Make only pancakes on griddle, scrambled eggs in larger round skillet and salmon burger in small round skillet. Store with cardboard rings between pans to protect surface. Cooking surface has pitted terribly. It looks like I’ve used to sift gravel in them. How can they get dozens of pock marks from eggs (one pan is far worse) and clean up with dawn and a nylon net scrubber? I hope the pieces that are missing from the pan surface washed away during clean up rather than ended up in food I fed to my family.

Put them into my over at 350 degrees and after about 5 minutes, a smell like hot chemicals of some kind filled my kitchen. Handles or pans? I don't know which. I will have to return these very light aluminum pans (which is why I bought them) too light for me!

When I put any of these pans in the oven they start to smoke, mostly the handles and they smell like chemicals. It's so strong. I have no idea what the handles are made of, wish I could return these. I'll just go back to stainless steel cookware.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our pots and pans are often used and I love when we get new ones! This Farberware nonstick frying pan is great. I like that it is large - 14 inches and can fit a lot in it! Its big enough that we can make many different types of meals for my whole family. The helper handle is a nice touch and I feel more confident when handling it. I have had zero issues and enjoy using this pan to cook.

I like that the nonstick surface has lasted; however these pans do scratch easily. Also, the griddle pan warped after first use on my top stove so of course it non longer sits flat on the stove.
