Q: Is this equivalent to the 114 tablespoon doses? I have always used the tablespoon doses and note that may no longer be available. Thanks, Gerry

submitted by Gerry - 5 years ago
  • A: Hello Gerry - Thanks for viewing our digestive health! I like that this is sugar-free. This is measured by teaspoons. Thanks for dropping by. - Anita

  • A: The tablespoon dose version is with sugar. This uses artificial sweetener which is a lot sweeter than sugar, so they use less. As a result, the dose is teaspoons. If you are OK with the artificial sweetener (I sure am), you get more doses per container, usually for the same price.

Shame they messed up the old formula

I'd now give this 0 stars if I could. The formula changed at the start of the year and has made it unusable. After years of using, it now tastes and smells disgusting.

I used the generic store brand from Target for years and it was essentially exactly the same as Metamucil. This new formulation is AWFUL. The flavor is not Orange at all. And it's clumpy to mix and doesn't thicken up like it always used to. Also doesn't really help.

Agree with all the other 1-star reviews. I have been using this product for years, and the new formulation is horrible. It tastes disgusting even when I add flavor to mask it, and it doesn't dissolve easily in water. I must have bought it right at the changeover because, at that time, there were no bad reviews. The old formula was great. Change it back! For now, I'm just going with the name brand.

Chalky and Clumpy BAD - 18 days ago, Verified purchaser
I’ve been using this fiber supplement from Target for a long time, and it used to be great—smooth, easy to mix, and effective. But they recently changed the formula, and unfortunately, it’s a huge downgrade. Now it’s chalky, clumpy, and unpleasant to drink. On top of that, the price has more than doubled! Instead of keeping a good product as is, they put money into changing the label and calling it “new and improved” when it’s actually worse. Why fix something that wasn’t broken? Very disappointed and am looking for an alternative.

They changed the formula and it tastes disgusting. I had been using this product for about 3 years and it's been great, but this new formula is terrible. It tastes like curry powder and doesn't mix well. The price has gone up significantly to boot. Save your money and get your fiber elsewhere.

I'd been using the Up & Up sugar free fiber for nearly a decade and loved it, but the brand recently changed the formula and it tastes, mixes, and works terribly. I sincerely hope that Up & Up reverts to the old formula ASAP - I won't be purchasing again until then.

I'm very dissapointed with my recent purchase of this item. I have been using this product regularly for the past few years with no issues or dislike. I can no longer say that. The bottle that I recently purchaed not only tastes different, but it does not dissolve when stirred. Large clumps form and remain floating on the surface. I could live with the flavor change but I can not handle the clumping. I will need to seek out a different option.

I bought it despite all the horrible reviews of the new formula. What a mistake on my part …..this is truly a horrible reformulation that I’ll never buy again. Tastes wretched and chalky. It’s hard to fathom they’d change from a great product to this junk. Target, if you read these reviews, do something about it and go back to your old supplier.
