Does not live up to the quality expectations

I realize these are light duty, but I honestly expect a little better quality from Fiskars. My mother bought a pair of these several years ago, and has bought a couple more since, but she's been disappointed with them each time. It's been different issues with of the 3 she bought. First pair, the blade broke, second pair, the anvil broke, and the third pair, one of the teeth in the power gear broke. I think that these issues could be addressed by making a more robust blade, using metal gearing, and using a metal anvil, with a hard plastic insert for the blade to contact. My family loves the Fiskars brand, and many of the tools we've acquired over the years have been enjoyed immensely, so it's really kind of disappointing to find equipment that does not uphold the high level of quality that we, and millions of other people around the world, have come to expect from the Fiskars name.

We appreciate your honest feedback and your loyalty to Fiskars. It’s disappointing to hear that these loppers haven’t met your expectations, especially given your family’s long history with our tools. Your insights on potential improvements are valuable, and we’ll be sure to share them with our team.

They cut branches like it's butter. The titanium makes them super light weight so your can get more cuts at a faster rate. They are my favorite 😍 ❤️

This is a replacement for one that I bought many years ago, no longer available in the store. They switched and gone to a carbon steel blade as opposed to a titanium that won’t rust as it once was
1 reply from Customer Service team - 2 months ago
The version with the titanium blade is exclusively available at The Home Depot: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Fiskars-PowerGear-Hybrid-Pruner-Lopper-Tool-1-1-4-in-Cut-Capacity-Titanium-Steel-Blade-for-Smooth-Precise-Cuts-1055714/202589054
These are weak, the plastic breaks off.

I received this power pruner as a gift in December 2023. They are poor quality after using them, the plastic part of the cutter broke off. Fiskers waranty policy was to send a picture of the product which I did. now they want me to return it at my expense. It appears they have so many complaints they are trying to slow down replacement process.

I bought this small lopper a year or so ago, and it worked great until it didn't. The plastic "anvil" half of the jaws, opposite from teh blade, snapped right off. Should have known not to buy plastic loppers. Live and learn. I suggest you buy one of the other models and stay away from the plastic jaws.

We use these for my dirt bike club, we carry them in a holster on the bike. They work well and are light weight. We are hard on them and they do eventually fail but they are not built to be HD.

I bought this lopper several years ago and I have really liked it for trimming branches under 1 inch. Was using the other day and the plastic that the blade contacts broke like others have said in their reviews. I guess from what I have read here there is no replacement part available so I guess I will have to go shopping for a new one. Would attach a picture but can't figure out how to do it.
Poor quality to use a plastic blade...

I bought this short handle lopper a few years ago for branches sized between the hand clippers and using my saw. This lopper works on very small branches, but when i tried it on a medium branch, the plastic blade snapped. Why would Fiskars add a PowerGear to a set of loppers and then make one of the blades plastic. Very poor design and quality. I do not recommend this short handled lopper.

Dangerous and breaks easily

They work if it does not break. I was lopping through all types of branches easily until one branch when the plastic around the blade broke. I was just pushing my arms together and it really wasn't even close to unreasonable pressure. These are dangerous and the entire hinge and blade should be metal. Do not buy these unless you only intend to cut 1/8" round branches or less. Mine are covered under warranty and I have no intention of making a claim.

Cheap Blade-NO REPLACEMENT

Wife bought this from Costco about a month ago. Finally got out clear the ivy from our split rail fence. After 3 cuts, the blade started to chip. After 2 hours of use the tool is now useless as they don't sell replacement blades. Thought this would have been easier with my carpal tunnel but had to use my small hand pruners anyway to finish the job. I was only cutting small ivy nothing larger than 1/2" and the blade is garbage!

I bought this short handle lopper 2 days ago, 5/6/24. When I removed the restraining ties I found that there was no friction or resistance holding the handles and they flopped back and forth freely. When I tried to adjust the 2 hex nuts holding the cutting blade they were resistant to tightening or loosening. I have owned many, many long handled loppers over the years, including Fiskars, and have never encountered an issue like this that I couldn't correct. This makes working with these loppers much more inconvenient. It would also make replacing the cutting blade impossible. Please advise. Thanks.

My Super Pruner with Titanium blade was purchased last summer for shrub pruning only. I pruned one viburnum and one oak leaf hydrangea. Blade now pitted and unusable. I regularly maintain my (other brand) hand pruners so know how to maintain blades and match blade size to limb cutting task. Really disappointed; nice while it lasted, which wasn’t very long. Finished the job with my trusty long handled loppers I’ve used/maintained for 10+ years.

Purchased 8 mos ago (Lowes) for seasonal work around the garden. Easy to use, liked it so much initially that I bought one for my sister. Unfortunately and as mentioned, the blades are easily pitted and made from "unobtanium". Oddly, I see online that the replacement blade for the larger lopper says it'll fit part # 9132, the same PN as this pruner, but the shape is different. Waiting to hear back from Cust Svc.

Hi! Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry that you had a negative experience with our product. Unfortunately, this item has no replaceable parts, so the replacement blade for the larger lopper will not fit.

I have bought 3 of these loppers; the last has a titanium blade. None of the blades have been durable and it's too expensive to keep buying entire loppers which doesn't seem to last more than a week. PLEASE offer replacement blades. There's no other lopper so light and sharp, but once the blade gets chipped, it's useless and aggravating.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone who doesn’t do a ton of gardening, these are great. They cut very well. They are super easy to use. I used them to trim my bushes and a few small tree branches. The only thing I wish they had a was a lock to keep them closed when not in use. Other than that, they worked amazingly.
