Q: I HAVE AN OLDER FITBIT VERSA 2 THAT TRACKS AFIB. DOES THIS NEWER VERSION ALSO TRACK AND POSIBLY LESS DELAY IN REPORTING?

submitted by RSL - 4 months ago
  • A: Hi RSL, thanks for reaching out about the Fitbit Sense 2 Smartwatch Aluminum. Yes, the Fitbit Sense 2 smartwatch can monitor for atrial fibrillation (AFib) with two features: Irregular Heart Rhythm Notifications: This feature uses a PPG optical heart rate sensor to monitor heart rhythm for signs of AFib while the user is still or sleeping. If an irregular rhythm is detected, the user will receive a notification in the Fitbit app. ECG app: This app can help identify signs of AFib through an on-wrist assessment If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7 am-11 pm CST.

  • A: Hi, there. The Fitbit Sense 2 tracks Fitbit Irregular Rhythm Notifications the same way the Fitbit Versa 2 tracks them. They both have optical sensors that can detect the pulse of blood that goes to your wrist with every heartbeat. The Fitbit Irregular Rhythm Notifications feature collects heart rhythm and motion data to check for signs of AFib. For more details, see: https://support.google.com/fitbit/answer/14236719 For any additional questions and concerns, reach us at: https://goo.gle/contactfitbit

I’ve been using mine for about two weeks and it is so scratched up already. How? I loved my first two Fitbits so much, so I stopped using my Apple Watch to come back. I also want to note that the battery life was not 6+ days for me. I’m lucky if I ever get two days. And it won’t track my sleep, which is a feature I was excited about. Back to the Apple Watch.

Hi, DianaM. We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing multiple issues on your Fitbit Sense 2. We recommend restarting your Fitbit device by pressing and holding the button for 10 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears on the screen, and then releasing the button. You can also check out the Fitbit battery saving tips by going to our Fitbit Help Center: https://support.google.com/fitbit/ and searching for "Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?". I Would Not Buy

I have owned Fitbit's for over 10 years and loved all including my Versa. I bought a Sense 2 watch in July and regret the purchase. My first one's screen didn't respond to touch well and they sent me a refurbished one. Now after 3 weeks that one isn't responding to touch either. They will send me another replacement but if that fails I'm giving up and purchasing an Apple Watch!

The face trim is very scratched up after less than 2 months. When I tap to start or pause an exercise, I have to keeping tapping or press very hard. I expected this watch to weather the normal wear and tear a LOT better. I haven't had major problems with the function of the watch so far.

Stopped working a little over a year later

Shawna - 6 months ago
This watch worked very well in the beginning. It had great battery life, was comfortable, reliable, durable and trendy. A little over a year after I got it, it would be at full charge but wouldn’t stay on. Occasionally, it would stay on for a short time but within minutes would go from full charge to 40% and slowly go down every few minutes. It would stay on forever if it was on the charge but that’s clearly not useful. I was outside of warranty period so I contacted support - I tried everything I was told. I did a factory reset, turned off most features (making it mostly unusable), cleaned the charging port and charger, removed it from my bluetooth and re-added it… to no avail. I had no other options. I also read many others online with the same issue and they’d exhausted all avenues, too. Really frustrating to spend $300+ and get just over a year out of it. I would absolutely not recommend and it looks like several others are experiencing the same issues.

Stopped working after 6 months. Sent a replacement that wasn't in the best shape, only for that to stop working after 2 months. The fitbit will not turn on. Just a black screen. I had the Versa lite since 2019 and it still works. Very disappointing because I can't get a refund or store credit or nothing. I'm down 300$ for something that won't turn on.

A fitness tracker is a fitness tracker right? Wrong. The Fitbit app used to be a fun experience and now it’s dull. Void of life and color. I don’t recommend Fitbit after the Google take over. Research Fitbit app updates in their communities before you buy.

They took away main features I loved. This is my second Fitbit and I loved my first one. I could control my music, and see the estimate on how many calories were left in a day. I was deciding between the Fitbit sense 2 and an Apple Watch. I am disappointed in my choice. I use this as a glorified watch with notifications. I picked this mainly for the battery life, thinking it still had my favorite features, but it does not.

I've had this for almost a year and I'm not impressed at all, wish I would have just stuck with my Amazfit. Heart rate while exercising is very inconsistent, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, which is the reason why I switched from my last one in the first place. I don't think the steps are very accurate either. SpO2 is only read at night. Doesn't show you your sleeping heart rate or restlessness unless you pay for premium.
1 reply from FitBit Team team - 1 year ago
Hi, rd. This is definitely not the experience we want you to have. We appreciate your feedback. Heart-rate tracking can be affected by several factors, including air temperature and device location on your wrist. For more information, see: help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1565.htm and help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1582.htm For step concern, factors such as device placement, dominant or non-dominant hand, and stride length affect the number of steps recorded. If you're pushing a stroller or shopping cart, try putting your wrist-based device in your pocket or using GPS if possible. For tips about improving accuracy, see: help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1136.htm For further help, reach out through phone, chat, social support, or through our community forums at https://goo.gle/contactfitbit

This was great until it stopped working 6 months in. I have had 5 “chats” and one phone call about how to activate the warranty and they won’t stand by their product. The battery drains quickly Mc won’t sync, won’t track heart rate, I have to turn it off and on multiple times A DAY to get it to maybe sync if it feels like it. What a waste of money-buy literally anything but this. It’s garbage and Fitbit/google sure won’t stand by it.

Horrible excuse for a smart watch. I've had the original fitbit versa since it came out. I can do more on it than I can with this one. The lack of being able to have 3rd party apps, not being able to put music on and not having the ability for headphones is a big downer. I love the batter life that fitbits offer but I returned and went with the galaxy 5 watch. Can do so much more and was cheaper.
