Q: Why does this specify "not for use by women"? Rogaine is available now in a 5% foam for women. Aside from Minoxidil, are there any other ingredients of concern to non-pregnant, non-breastfeeding women?

A: The active and inactive ingredients of both are exactly the same. The difference is price, à la the Pink Tax. The women's version is $7.80/oz, the men's is only $5.37/oz. Women pay an extra $2.43/oz.

I am a woman who used the men’s formulation and it has worked great for me. I recommend patience in using this product. I did not see any changes until the fourth month when I was about to give up and after that point the fine hair started growing out. Fast forward seven months and my former almost bald spots in my middle part and temples have filled in nicely. I am very diligent about using it twice a day. I have tried the liquid form in the past and prefer the foam. It feels less greasy than the liquid form. There is more control in the placement with the foam formulation. The only drawback is that if I am not careful, I’ll notice minor baby hairs past my hairline on my forehead but I have no problem waxing it off. It is worth the effect I see on the hair sections I want to see growth at. Thank Target brand works great for me and is less expensive than the name brand.

I’m in my 30s and started to notice thinning of my hair which was leading to the beginning of bald spots. I also had receding hairline in front as well. This product along with a change in my diet to more Whole Foods and proteins, taking biotin supplement in my daily vitamin, and hydrating daily has synergy effect with this product and has given me my hair back and even looks darker. Highly recommend for the price point and supply. I have been using it for about 1 year and have noticed a big difference by month 6
