Q: If these bags are not dishwasher safe (as answered previously), then why are they shown loaded on the bottom shelf of a dishwasher in the advertisement? Has the answer to this question changed?

Q: Are these bags dishwasher safe? There is a photo in the ad showing them in a dishwasher, but all the details in the description say to hand-wash.

A: Hello, this is from FoodSaver We do not recommend washing FoodSaver bags using dishwasher. You can hand wash FoodSaver bags and re-use them. However, it depends on the previous contents of the bag. FoodSaver® Bags that previously contained fruits, vegetables, breads and dry goods can be washed and reused. FoodSaver® Bags that contained raw meats, fish, eggs or un-pasteurized cheese should be discarded after use because they may contain invisible bacteria that will remain after washing. FoodSaver® Bags that contained greasy or oily foods should also be discarded, as they may be difficult to clean. FoodSaver® Bags can be washed by hand. Dry completely. They can then be re-vacuumed. I use these for my everyday items like cheeses and fresh produce or for frozen foods that I am getting into regularly. A large bag of frozen fruit is a perfect example. Just use what you need, reseal and vacuum. When the bag is finished, wash and dry, Bingo! ready for the next bag. Saves food from freezer burn but makes using it easy- peasy.

These bags are wonderful for stuff you want vacuumed but need to keep opening. My husband uses luncheon meat for his lunches daily and we can just keep resealing these bags. Makes it keep so much longer than nor being sealed

I have bought a couple boxes of these reusable gallon bags. I purchase fresh fruit in bulk and freeze them in these bags. I have only had one tear and that was not the bag failing- it was my fault.

Love it! I've long known air was the culprit for spoiled foods, but single use food storage bags were too costly for my budget. New reusable bags allow me to access my stores foods daily with ease, and at a cost I can afford. The handheld unit makes vacuum sealing a breeze. I've also purchased the bottle and jar sealers and look forward to less spoilage of even more types of food.

I bought these and when I use them they did not hold the seal. They were also hard to get to take the seal because the vacuum thing didn't work on them

Recent purchase, limited use thus far. First use, leftover popcorn from POPCORN AND A MOVIE NIGHT with grandchildren. Placed popcorn in a bag and applied suction until it just started to compress. Stayed fresh all week long despite numerous opening and reseals. Possible use for breakfast cereal to keep it fresher.

“Reusable” is a stretch… worked great the first time and even the second time. The third time proved too challenging to get air to move through the valve. Had to throw away after two uses. Technically it was reusable, but not by much.

These zipper bags are significantly better than the first zipper bags. The plastic seal on the original zipper bags would fall off, making the bags useless. However, these zipper bags have a better design and the problem with the putter plastic seal falling off is no longer an issue. The improvements make this product an excellent product!
