Our Panama Boquete coffee has distinctive acidity and a sweet, well-rounded flavor. The sweetness originates from a brown sugar tasting note at the start, with hints of nutty butter pecan and a citrusy tangerine finish.This Panama coffee is sourched from the Casa Ruiz Estate, a family owned estate located near the town of Boquete between Volcan Buru National Park and La Amistad International Park within the province of Chiriqu, Panama. The Ruiz family has worked in the Boquete coffee industry for three generations. They are also one of the founding donors of the Ngabere literacy program named for theindigenous population called the Ngabe, who work on the estate during the harvest. Plentiful rainfall and hot sun make Panama an amazing location for coffee farming.

I buy it only for personal use and now purchase 5lb bags as whole beans. I grind fresh every morning. FRC always has this in stock and a significantly lower price than “other” distribution companies that market Panama Boquette as a special and seasonal coffee deserving of a substantially higher price/lb. So FRC is my invaluable answer! Love them. Delivery always just a couple days! Bravo….

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There was a time when I thought the main coffees in the world that we loved were East African at elevation: Tanzania peaberry, Ethiopia, and the like. But a recent visit to Panama City and discovering the volcanic mountain coffees like Panama Boquete was enthralling. The book American Terroir highlights a chapter on this coffee. It is just as fruity and delicious as the East African coffees. These are light-medium roasts, preserving the original species flavors. Then add to that Fresh Roasted’s Ethiopia Sidamo Guji, and you’ve got a gold mine of the best coffees in the world. We do drip, strong, black!
