Description
Gaiam's Yoga Kit for Beginners includes everything you need to start your yoga practice. This kit includes a 4mm thick alignment yoga mat, foam block, 6' yoga strap, and a 60-minute yoga workout. Expert yogi, Rodney Yee, will teach you how to master the basic skills to improve flexibility and circulation, along with building core strength, agility and balance. The yoga mat is standard sized at 68"L x 24"W x 4mm thick and is made from lightweight PVC and free from latex and the 6 most harmful phthalates. The foam yoga block measures 9"L x 6"W x 3"H and the cotton yoga strap is 6' long.

Q: Is a DVD supposed to be included in the GAIAM Yoga Beginners Kit? The box says "Free Yoga Workouts" but nothing like that was contained in the box. If the DVD is supposed to be included how can I get it?

This is the worst quality mat I have ever had. I do only yoga on it, no shoes, in a cool carpeted space. With every single workout, pieces come off. I finally had it this morning and contacted Gaiam who told me it was "accidental damage", basically my fault, and offered me 20% off the purchase of a new mat. I get that something can be a dud or faulty. It happens. But if they will not be accountable for a bad product and blame the customer, I will no longer be purchasing Gaiam products.

Mat is not good at all. You slide all over it when trying to do yoga.

We recommend wiping the mat down prior to use with 50/50 solution of water and vinegar. This will remove any ink residue and increase the grip of the mat.

Nice to have all the essentials. The block, strap and mat. Purchased this for my daughter and she loves it. High quality and the price is well below what one would pay if you purchased each item individually. Will be purchasing more for gifts. The added DVD really completes the kit. Strap and block are great. Mat is really pretty bad for the following reasons: 1. It's only 5'8"" long. I'm 5'9"" so even if I perfectly ""center"" myself on the mat, one part of me is hanging off. 2. It's thin. It's so thin and lightweight that if you do any type of cardio on it, it will literally flip and flop and float off the ground and always be moving. If you are doing simple yoga, you'll need to find another soft surface to put underneath because hardwood is just painful. 3. The print isn't centered left to right. Minor gripe, but it's annoying to look straight down (down dog) and see a lopsided print. Makes it impossible to find the center of the mat. *review sourced from Gaiam
