Bright, Colorful and Readable Display

The AMOLED display is a game-changer compared to typical backlit-LED displays. The display is bright, colorful and readable in the dark and bright sunlight. I purchased this for the display technology as well as the ability to play music through my Bluetooth headphones (I didn't want to carry my phone). My only wish for this watch is that it also had a Triathlon mode.

Love almost everything about this watch. Love to track my swims, runs, steps. The watch is very comfortable and light. The only things that I don’t like are it is annoying to add music and so tedious it’s not worth it to track my strength training. I recommend making it easy to do those things on connect if they cannot find an easy way to do it on the watch.

I bought this watch to take the place of my phone as my source of music playback during my long runs. Unfortunately the blu tooth connection is terrible or very weak between the watch and the dozen or so pairs of earbuds i have tried. The music fades in and out and then drops out all together. Completely worthless for what I needed. Going to have to return the watch. Really sad. I saved for 4 months to be able to afford this watch. Needed it to be a game changer and it is anything but that. Disappointed.

This is one of my favorite purchases. Not very easy to use though. When you are in the middle of the run you cannot switch podcast if the one you are listening to ends/ you cannot switch back go back to the music page in the middle of the run. Connecting the aipods each time is a confusing set up and takes times each times you use it. These things are all just things that can be changed with updates. I run in walk intervals and its perfect for what I am looking for! I would recommend it to EVERYONE who is looking for a recommendation!

Had this about a month, easy to use and lots of fun ways to personalize the display of information. You barely need to open the app on your phone with this one. Battery life is good, touch screen works well, lots of fun colors to choose from

So far I really like this Forerunner. Although I don’t have it completely figured out. The only thing I don’t like is the band… it’s too big and the tail catches on everything. I wish you’d make a smaller band.

I have had this watch for a little over a month and it has been excellent. It motivates me to run and their coach plans have been helping me to reach my goal of a sub 25 minute 5k as an 8th grader. I love that it is 90% fitness but still has a lot of smartwatch features.

For about 3 years I have relied on the Apple Watch. The last straw was half way into my 1/2 marathon it stopped. Needless to say I was upset. I had contemplated spending the money for it but am presently training for my first marathon. I absolutely love it. It breaks every split down and tells me what area I was slow, fast and marks my previous 5k and 10k times. Can’t wait till I start using the music feature. Thank you

This is my 4th Garmin since the OG Forerunner 205 in 2009. Each Garmin has lasted me 4-5 years averaging 60 miles a month. This one though is fancier than the rest, still gets the job done. I don’t need one with bells and whistles (smart watch). This watch has all the basics of a running watch down. The music connectivity is quick. Easy to use watch too.

Garmin vs. Apple Watch

I contemplated this for months and finally pulled the trigger. I’ve had the 165 Music for about a month now and I’m still psyched about it. Garmin has a much better interface for fitness data and the race time predictions is a really cool feature. The ONLY draw back is it isn’t as seem less to your phone (using talk to text or taking calls), but as someone who prefers minimal phone usage throughout the day it’s not a problem.

I bought this not too long ago and i like it for the most part. It’s a bit janky and i think Garmin can still do better. I have both an Apple Watch and a Garmin and i still think the Apple Watch is a little bit better made. So happy with the colors but you guys should sell more expensive looking bands as well.

Extremely useful insights and recommendations. Amazing battery life. Waterproof. Don't love that you need 2 apps on your phone and the watch faces leave something to be desired. Can't figure out how to link my headphones but haven't tried much and more than likely user error. Overall pretty user friendly. Wish you could play music from the watch speaker. Would buy again.

Malfunctioning after two days

Stuck on Run mode even after powering off three times. Touch screen not working for some functions. From other reviews I’ve read, it’s also glitchy for others. Too expensive for that. Plan to return it to the store.

Much brighter screen!

I purchased the Forerunner 165 Music because my previous Forerunner was showing its age. I wanted to be sure I had a functioning Garmin before the old one shut down for the last time. I am pleased overall with the Forerunner 165 Music and particularly like the much brighter screen which is now more readable in sunlight. Set up was fairly easy and straightforward if you have experience with Garmin. A few minor annoyances like at the end of a run when saving the data needing to tell respond I don't want to answer the question about level of effort and how did I feel every time. I clicked on the arrows saying to skip these questions and it held for a few times but now is back. Minor annoyance but still wish it would "go away". The silicone band is the same as previous and I could not wait to get rid of it as I have with previous watches. Wish Garmin would provide more alternative band options as silicone and leather do not work for me.
