I love to use this for my updos! I use a boar bristle brush (that I also got from Target) to and this gel to achieve the “slick back” buns and ponytails that are in right now. I’m a fan of this product and would recommend. It also smells great!

No white flakes or white cast! This is the best gel I’ve used for my I 4c hair, it works beautiful it doesn't revert your hair quickly so you can maintain your length and curls. I will continue to buy this as long as it works!

Long time user of original formula. The new aloe extract formula burned my forehead extremely bad . Days of treatment to relieve the burning damage it caused.

This is the best gel for curly hair! You don't have to use a ton, doesn't make curls crunchy, tames frizz, smells great, and defines curls very well. I bought a ton when it went on sale to stock up! It also rates nicely on Yuka as a clean product.

This stuff is awful. The good gel, the strong stuff that actually worked, was fantastic. I never understood why companies ditch good products only to replace them with crap. Sad!!

The gel held well, but I only used it once. After the first use I noticed it changed my hair texture and made my hair really dry. I threw the gel away after the first use.

No hold. For something that says “extra string hold” it’s false advertising. It’s little to no hold. It’s almost like they watered it down to make more.

This is a very nice styling cream if you have curly hair. My grandaughter uses this creamy gel and it keeps her hair curly and frizz free all day. It’s just as good as Paul Mitchell sculpting gel.

This product had a formula change but did not change the name. I’ve used Garnier Pure Clean for years and LOVED it, but this new formula with aloe is crap. It doesn’t keep my curls defined and unfortunately ends up leaving me frizzy. It also does not smell good at all. Seriously disappointed and don’t understand why they would completely change the product that’s been around!

I was starting to think it’s impossible to get a clean, cruelty free gel with decent hold. Little did I know this drugstore stalwart was the product I was looking for. I’ve been traumatized by the early 2000s Fructis products that were terrible for curly hair, but decided to give this gel a try and was pleasantly surprised. Can’t wait to test it out when the summer humidity rolls in.
