A: Not if you "scrunch out the crunch." If you apply a lot and then don't scrunch your hair, yes, it'll be crispy/hard, because it's high-hold gel.

This hair gel did not work to hold my waves. I had high hopes seeing this product highly rated by an influencer with my similar hair type. It was watery and sticky when applying to my hair. It didn’t create a strong cast as I hoped to maintain my waves.

If you guys care at all about your customer base please bring back the old formula this one is horrible. as a loyal customer of yours i feel very badly about being forced to never purchase this gel again. I really think the old formulation was the best in the market, this one is horrible. I don’t understand why everyone is saying change it and nothing is being done. Never purchasing again.

Defined my curls really well and left them nice and soft and shiny (but not greasy). Also didn't dry out my hair or leave any residue. I was also able to easily scrunch to remove the cast. To top it off, the price is very reasonable. Love it for my winter hair. Btw I used it with the Aussie miracle shampoo and conditioner.

I have used Aussie since I was 17 . Shampoo and three minute miracle. I have used the instant freeze gel for almost as long. I’ve used some type of Aussie Gel for my hair and was a huge fan. Not a big fan of the new formula. Just not the same and my hair doesn’t react the same to the new formula. Bring back the old formula. I don’t mind paying a little more if it’s that much better!!

My hair as a bit of a loose wave. This product works great to keep the wave without my hair getting frizzy. Once it dries it is soft to the touch and doesn't have a hard feeling to it - like when moose dries. I use it combination with the curling cream. My new go to for sure! A keeper.

This has always been a really great hard hold gel for my Caucasian wavy/curly hair and is my go to over a lot of more expensive brands. I also used this when serving to slick back military hair styles. On my complaint is that if I use too much, when I scrunch out the crunch after it dries, I can see gel particles floating around price is great.

Please read all the reviews from many retailer sites begging you for the old formula back. The old formula was the affordable holy grail!

before aussie changed the formula and violently altered the trajectory of my life, this gel was the only product i used to style my hair since 2009. that’s 15 years. and let me be clear, this was not casual use. this was every single day. for 15 years. literally the longest relationship i’ve ever had. to this day, this is the only gel that has ever worked for my hair. and aussie, i’ve read your other replies, do not start with me—this is not a matter of preference and none of us are entertaining that notion. first and foremost, gel either works or it doesn’t. i don’t know why im explaining this to the manufacturer but Gel Needs To Form a Cast on The Hair Or It Does Not Work. It Is Useless. This Formula Does Not Form a Cast. It Does Not Work. It Is Useless. i know it sounds like im being dramatic but this gel changed my life and im being so serious. i grew up as a black girl in white american suburbs and this gel transformed my perception of my hair from a burden to a gift. it sounds insane but this gel has played a crucial role in my life. therefore i am taking this formula change personally. i will never forgive aussie for this. that being said aussie, if you have any bottles of the previous formula left please let me buy them.
