I will clarify that Corelleware is made using three (3) layers of glass, but I haven't come across anything to tell one how many layers of glass are involved with this dinnerware. Judging by the looks and its origin (France) it is likely made by a company called Luminarc. You may wish to check out their website to learn more.

Put a dinner plate in the microwave for 50 secs, then again for 30. Took it out at the end and it exploded in my hands--tiny shards all over the floor and hot food flying everywhere. Supposed to be microwave safe. Would not recommend these at all. Even if they don't explode, they get insanely hot because they're so thin.

These plates are made of tempered opal glass, which is stronger than regular annealed glass and is more resistant to both physical and thermal shocks. In rare circumstances, tempered pieces may appear to break spontaneously without cause if they have been damaged either during manufacturing, shipping, or subsequent handling at an earlier date or time. As a result of this weak stress point, the glass can expand and contract with the surrounding temperature, causing it to release the internal stress by breaking. I purchased 2 sets of this dishware about a year ago and loved them. Today I tested them for lead and the test came up positive. I called customer service and they took a report but said they would likely not follow up. I would avoid this product!

I love how thin these dishes are. They fit in the cabinets perfectly and we could easily buy another set and they would still fit great. I love the simplicity of the design. I would definitely buy these again! I personally wish they would make a set with larger bowls, the bowls are pretty small, but it’s not a huge deal! Definitely would recommend

We love these as an alternative to registering and getting corell dishes which is what I originally had wanted. They are simple and beautiful and have been using for just over a year. We got two sets as wedding presents but decided to pick up a third just because they can be easily fancied up if you want to use them for a nice dinner but are also super casual for everyday dinners. They have held up great and look just as good as the day I took them out of the box. We almost always wash them in the dishwasher so they could definitely look worse for the wear.

We have this set for about 2 months, still looks elegant.. no scratches, would have given it a 5 star until one the small plate just cracked on its own after i placed a waffle on it.. the rest of the small plates held up good when i placed the rest of the waffles.. i still plan to get another set ( if it goes on sale again)
