Good luck designing a worse can opener. Completely inept design.

This can opener does not open cans. It just dents the sides and cuts small portions of the cans. Terrible product.

Not only does it not work well enough to open cans, (it keeps slipping off), the whole thing bent the 3rd time I used it, rendering it useless. It's EXTREMELY POOR QUALITY. Very disappointing.

Smoothest And Best Working Can Opener Of All Time
5 out of 5 stars

Title says it all. I've been using it regularly a few months now and it continues to work like new. The opener makes opening cans a breeze, very little grip required, and it's perfect every time, no slipping or shredding paper label or skipping spots.

This thing was built tough, like pick-up truck tough. I've gone through like four can openers in a decade, if not more... No, I'm sure I'm missing one or two more in my memory, but this one is actually built right. First off, the handle is NOT plastic, it's metal, as it should have always been. The grips are sturdy, firmly gripping the metal handles hidden underneath. Then the handle for turning the two blades it nice and long, so if you have large hands, you're not playing with a toy can opener like you're playing house with your kids. Lastily, it's got a nice firm grip on it and you can feel the bearings turn like they're supposed to without losing tension.

Pretty much what everyone else said. It’s hard to get it to puncture a can. The can falls out while turning it, causing a mess. The handle is bent making it harder to turn, as it scraps the side. Most of the time I have to use a fork or spoon to pop off the lid the rest of the way, which is dangerous. This thing appears to be solid and well made, and it worked fine at first, but turned to junk in no time.

Worst Purpose Built Tool I’ve Ever Used

Does not open cans. Left jagged spikes on the can lid to such a degree that it could be argued using a knife to open the can would be safer. Is made of such poor materials that it broke on the first use. I don’t want another one, I don’t want a refund, I just want y’all to know that this is terrible.

I bought this on thanksgiving day, I thought I was getting a good quality one. I was happy it saved me when I needed to open my pumpkin. It worked well for 4 months, then the blue clip to keep it locked broke. Then a couple months later the main hinge broke and it all fell apart.

Can opener fail - 2 years ago
Don't waste your time or money on this opener. We bought one and a week later we were gifted one. Neither one will open a can. It's a $25 bottle opener, and that's it. It doesn't grip the can, or provide enough down pressure to actually cut through the lid. You end up spinning in place, or creating gaps in the lid where it wasn't opened. This creates a serious sharp edge issue for anyone trying to open the can. In 2023, why is this style available? At least they actually worked back in the 70's and 80's. We had a cut proof that broke and needed to be replaced that day. If you have children that want to be independent, expect stitches from this item. Use, clean, quality, value. Again, a $25 bottle opener.

The can opener we bought fails miserably at opening a can. You can not keep it engaged on the can as you turn the handle. I was actually making fun of my wife trying to use it, she gave it to me to try and had quite the laugh as struggled with it. Not happy at all! I guess you get what you pay for.
