Q: Do I need to have a sheet on the bassinet part if I’m using this for a newborn as their main sleeping arrangement?

A: I recommend it. It can get cold. Make sure the sheets don’t cause bubbling when using on the mat. For our newborn we purchased an actually mattress to go ontop of the mat it comes with so there was no bubbling and baby was safe.

A: It comes with a foam board. It is not really a mattress. Both our babies slept on it just fine, we bought a mattress to put in only once we started to use the bottom part.

Q: How does the Kaden differ from the Reeves? Is it just the zipper that the Reeves has? How is the Kaden bassinet attached? What is the difference in the mattress pads?

A: Thanks for your interest in our Pack and Plays! The On The Go (Kaden) and the On The Go Zip (Reeves) are actually very similar with Reeves being the newer updated version. Reeves has updated fabrics, mattress design, and a raised bassinet that zippers into the playard, where Kaden's raised bassinet clips into the edges of the playard and have the older mattress design. I'm disappointed with this Graco pack n play on the go playard. The one we replaced this with (also Graco) and used for 4 kids was SOOOOO much easier to use. For this one, I loved the black color, but trying to add the bottom pad even without a sheet took 2 people to do. The 4 straps with snaps have to be threaded thru 4 small openings in bottom of playard. They are so short that trying to snap it around the bottom poles was challenging. Trying to unsnap them was bad too since the strap was so short and had nothing to leverage when unsnapping. Then we added a sheet - again it took 2 people to find the 4 straps under the sheet and thread it through the tiny openings so they could secure the thin bottom pad to the playard. I hate to think of having to do this everytime the sheet needs changing! Would NOT recommend this particular playard for that alone. The other item that was not good was trying to get all the pieces back into the bag. Again, not easy to do!

I like that the price was so cheap and that the product was super easy to put together and to take apart. Just make sure you buy a mattress pad or a memory foam topper for the bassinet insert in the bottom part.

The mattress bubbles up creating an unsafe sleep environment. When I contacted Graco customer service they sent a new mattress that bubbles up even worse than the first one! Graco tried to blame the bubbling on the fitted sheet but it's there even without the sheet and I never even put a sheet on the replacement one. I wish I had done more research before getting this because apparently it's a known and common issue.
