Q: Does this pan work for an induction stovetop? In the product information, it says it does in one place, but that it doesn't in another place.

submitted by Molly - 3 years ago
  • A: I have the set w/o the 12" and I only use them on my induction cooktop. It works great. Eggs seem like they might be beginning to stick while I'm cooking them, but by the time they're done, they come right out and I can even wipe them with a paper towel, if I want to, but I I use a sponge. Very easy cleanup.

Q: is this pan compatible with a Kitchen Aid glass top stove? Meaning will not leave a mark or scratch the surface?

submitted by Brenda - 4 years ago

Q: Where is this made? I’m hoping the USA!

submitted by Janey - 4 years ago
  • A: I just got the 10 piece set on Cyber Monday. The box says made in China. So far, so good, though. They look and feel very well made. They're hefty and the base is made as one unit. The magnetic steel is an integral part of the pan, not added on afterwards, like most induction sets. I checked GreenPan's website and the only comparable set with the diamond infused nonstick, was over $500.00 and was not induction capable. It was anodized, but was stackable. They don't sell this model on their website. It's probably a Target exclusive. I was considering this 12" pan, because the set only has 8 & 9.5 inch pans.

Love that it is PFAS free and non stick. Great for eggs and have been using for several months without any issue. Still very nonstick. I do hand wash and use wood and silicone utensils only.

Coating has worn off after 2 months! Have used this pan about 10 times total and always used silicone or wooden utensils, hand washed and did not overheat- the coating has already worn away in spots. I’m so disappointed. I purchased Greenpan when they first came out- on QVC and had hoped the product quality improved from 10 years ago, but no. I will never again purchase. Save your money and invest in better cookware!

Used it twice then had to throw away. Nonstick lasted one time. Waste of money.

We are very sorry to hear about the issues with your cookware. This issue can be easily resolved! It is likely that you have a layer of carbonized oil built up on your pan that will create a barrier between the pan and your food. When this happens, you are basically cooking on the layer of oil as opposed to the surface of the pan. This layer may not be visible. This cleaning method has proven to be extremely successful and can be used when you notice staining and/or sticking. For the best results, please try this method twice. Once complete, you may resume normal washing with soap and sponge. Fill the pan halfway with water and bring it to a near boil for about 2 minutes. Pour out the water and place the pan on a sturdy surface such as a wooden cutting board. Carefully use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on the warm surface; this should do the trick. If this does not work, please email GreenPan directly at customercare.us@greenpan.com. They are happy to help!

Bought this pan 5 month ago. But due to moving, I have not yet to use it. Today I wanted to use it for the first time. And one piece of coating, size of 1mm * 1mm has already went away. The 'durable' word in the description is a joke.

I’m trying to stay away from Teflon nonstick but I’ve yet to find a durable replacement. The coating on this pan did not last. Eggs and bacon started sticking like crazy within a few weeks of purchase. Well made pan but the coating leaves much to be desired. It heats up quickly, though it is difficult to manage temperature on a radiant electric cooktop. My old gas range did a better job with it; even then, I still had things stick regularly.

Read the directions - great pans!

Don’t let the reviews about sticking concern you. Read the directions, and you will be fine. The pans aren’t made of the same materials you are used to - and they aren’t meant to be used over a 4 or 5 heat level. But they will cook just fine at those heats. If you use higher heat or oil sprays (directions say not to use sprays), you will experience sticking and damage your pan, which will result in, you guessed it, more sticking. The only sticking we’ve had is with eggs, but it’s not too bad and it still comes right off with no scrubbing. These are our favorite pans!

Works great after a year of use

I have that set, that I bought at Target about a year ago. The only sort of sticking that happens is when I'm making scrambled eggs, during the cooking process. By the time the eggs are cooked, however, the eggs release and can easily remove any browned residue with my silicone spatula or a wet sponge and it's as good as new. I haven't had the need for the melamine pads (Magic Eraser pads). They heat quickly with my induction top and I am completely satisfied with them. I've even started to use the larger pan as a wok. I use no oil, but just a stir fry sauce and there is no sticking whatsoever. Moreover, the induction plate is molded into the pan, not just stuck on the bottom like many other pans. It's a good weight, too. Not so heavy that it's difficult to lift and not so light that it's unstable, but very solid and well built. Highly recommended. They still look new, except for a slight browning on the bottom where it sits on the surface, but really minimal discoloration. The cooking surface is still brand new appearing. But, I use silicone utensils to keep it that way, but I would use these even on steel pans. Steel utensils will scratch even stainless steel pots and the silicone woks perfectly for me. I'd give the value six stars, if I could. Pans this nice would cost 2-3 time what these cost and I got mine on sale, last year. And you can cook up to 600 deg F. That's better than most expensive pans and more that my Hexclad 14" wok, which cost more that this whole set.

Pan used properly but food started sticking anyway after less than a month. No amount of oil helps. Now it’s useless and going back. Very disappointing.

This pan lasted about a month until it started to stick in the middle. I followed the instructions- low to medium heat, non- metal utensils, cleaned with a soft towel or sponge, and would always use oil and/or butter and would watch it so it wouldn’t burn. Whack.

This pan is much heavier than typical nonstick pans. It sits on my glass cooktop very well. It is very nonstick and super easy to clean. Having a lid is great. I like that it’s deep enough to cook one skillet meals in without making a mess when you stir or turn things. I only use silicone utensils and feel like it will definitely last several years if taken care of well. Nonstick pans aren’t meant to be cooked with on high heat and doing so will definitely shorten their life. The pan contains excellent directions for taking care of it.
