Q: Does the base get hot to the touch? Does the base stay hot when kettle is removed from the base? Is it safe to leave base plugged in without kettle on it?
A: The base does not get hot. The middle of the base has a connection to the kettle that initiates the heating process. It is safe to keep the base plugged.

Q: Can we mix milk and water and boil it in the kittle ?
A: You should only boil water in the kettle. Do not add milk, tea or coffee to the kettle. Only water should be heated in the kettle, any other items you try to heat in the kettle may damage it and will void the warranty.

Q: Can you use this on the stove top as well?
A: No! Please do not use any electric kettle on a stovetop.

Q: Can you control temperature?
A: The Heritage kettle does not allow you control the temperature. The Dorset kettle has a temperature dial so you can stop the boiling when it reaches the temperature you want.

Q: Can you make coffee in it? I see there's a filtering mesh, but is it possble it would work or are the grains too fine?
A: Our kettles are for heating up water only. We do not reccommend using it as a coffeemaker.

Q: Is the 75012 Haden tea kettle different from the other that does not say auto shut off? My daughter has the one that does not say anything about auto shut off and she is telling me it does shut off.
A: All HADEN kettles have the auto shut off/ boil dry protection feature.

Q: someone mentioned in their comment that the kettle must be kept plugged in. why is this so?
A: The kettle has a round base that is sits on to heat. The base has the cord that plugs into the wall. The kettle lifts off the base for use.
