Hamilton Beach 2.5-Cup FlexBrew Coffee Maker - Red: Single Serve, K-Cup Compatible, 1050W, Electric, Hand Wash

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great little coffee maker. It is called a Flexbrew for a reason. You can use bagged coffee with the included adapter. You can also use k cups. The adapter is more environmentally friendly as well as making a cheaper cup of coffee. It brews quickly. I love the red color. It is smaller than most coffee makers taking up less counter space. The appliance is lightweight and easy to clean. You can use taller cups as well as a travel mug. I wish the cord was longer. That is my only complaint.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had high hopes for this product because of the "bold brew" option, but they were short-lived. I expected that the machine would pause brewing for 30 seconds (or so) after allowing the grounds to become saturated with a couple of ounces of the hot water it disperses, and then resume the brewing cycle to its end. This was not the case, and resulted in a raw, weak tasting cup of coffee. I could unplug the unit and allow this to happen manually, but then what is the point of the "bold brew" button? This is my biggest issue with this unit. The cup that I brewed trom a prefilled pod was not good at all, and it was not the pod itself. I've used this exact coffee pod many times without a problem. I suspect it brews too fast, and doesn't allow enough contact time with the grounds. The thin, plastic reservoir cover buckles during brewing. It does relax after cooling, but it gives a cheap feel to the unit. The rest of the housing is without issue, and the funnel that the brewing attachments sit in during the brewing process is removable. This makes for easy clean up, which gets a huge thumbs-up from me. All of the removable parts are dishwasher-safe on the top rack during a normal wash cycle (not a high-temp sanitizing cyle, however). I love the ability to use prefilled pods of grounds and my own, favorite coffee from a canister. The needles function without error on the prefilled pods. The measurement that the reservoir indicates is slightly larger than my very accurate measuring cup, but only slightly. The red unit does look great, and the color of the red is bold and commanding which is welcome in a kitchen that lacks personality. The exterior is easy to keep clean just with a clean, damp cloth. I haven't used it enough to have to do any sort of interior cleaning, though I am curious what that process will entail, and how long it will take. The mug platform is not height-adjustable (always an issue with this type of coffee maker). This allows for splashing on the counter, though it does house the attachments and is removable for very tall travel cups. The unit, in general, seems a bit large for what it does which is brewing a single serving. This would not be an issue for those with more counter space than I have in my small kitchen. I could live with the warping of the reservoir cover if it brewed a decent cup, but it's a disappointment in that respect. If it doesn't perform its main duty with some success, its not going to take up space on my kitchen counter for very long. I did not attempt to put a finer grind of coffee in the basket, and may do that in the future to see if that makes a difference. I really do want to like and use this unit. Right now, however, I'm just not there. It's an okay unit, but not one that I'd recommend to a serious coffee enthusiast. I will continue to experiment to see if I can get a better result by changing the grind and amount of water, though I did brew with

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is cute single cup coffee machine that makes *good* coffee from pods or ground coffee. Sometimes coffee makers that brew pods and full carafe ground seem to put either the pod brewer or the carafe brewer on as an afterthought. This coffee maker has one job - to give you a good single cup of coffee - and does it well. I'm not sure about its longevity though. The benefits are that it has a small footprint and so you can use it perhaps even in an environment where space is at a minimum. And the aforementioned 'good cup of coffee' which is its primary job. I also really like the 'ground coffee' option - it's easy to use and gives you some choices that may not be available in pod form. The drawbacks are that it takes quite a while to brew that one good cup of coffee, and that you aren't able to clean the reservoir. There is a solid mesh grate on top so you can't get into it to clean it. You are relying on their recommended cleaning procedure in the manual which doesn't always get the reservoir clean, it just serves to take care of the scale that builds up. I feel this machine is a temporary solution and may need replaced after a few months to 1 year. This is your machine if you want a cute machine, that doesn't take up much space, that does one thing fairly well (but is a unitasker), and you realize that you can't ever really clean it that well so it may not have the longevity others have.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works good. My one complaint about this specific machine, is that it takes too long to brew 1 cup. I use a 10-12oz mug and it takes almost 5 minutes to finish. Not good for making quick cups with company. I do like that you can choose ehat size cup though, it's just not right for if you're in a hurry.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love this coffee maker it's simple and easy to use. I love that you can use it two different ways. One with k-cups and the other with ground coffee. Love that there is also a regular brew or a bold brew. Which I definitely utilize on mornings I feeling extra sleepy. The color is also bold and matches my kitchen. Would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been wanting a single serve coffee pot but the cost of pods and the amount of trash generated by all those pods kept me from buying one. Then, when my doctor said to cut out caffeine and my husband would not drink decaf, I decided I had to but one. When I found the Flex Brew I knew my problem was solved. With the option of using ground coffee instead of a pod, (or, I can use the pods when I am in a hurry) I can have my decaf and let my husband use the drip coffeemaker.

Makes a great cup of coffee everytime. Doesn't take up a lot of space like refull size coffee maker. The red color really sets off my kitchen. Hamilton Beach is always my go to for outstanding small appliances.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Satisfied with this FlexBrew coffee machine. It’s simple and easy to use. This machine can be used with K cups or ground coffee. I’ve only used this for K cups and not for ground coffee so this review is based off that. The amount of water that you put into the machine is the amount of coffee that will brew. The max is 14 ounces and will depend on the size of your cup/mug. The unit has a small window that shows you the amount of water you have in. I personally fill it to 12 ounces which is perfect for me. My coffee tastes great and is perfectly hot. No issues with brewing it at all. I’d also like to mention that I only use the regular brew and not the bold brew. I’m sure that the bold brew has more of a stronger flavor/taste and that is definitely one’s preference. The unit will shut off when brewing is complete. It only takes just a few minutes to brew a cup of hot, delicious coffee. This unit is also perfect for brewing hot chocolate (k cups) which my kids use quite often. Because this unit is a single serving, you will need to add water each time you use it. I like how compact it is that takes up very little space on your counter top. I honestly can’t say I have any complaints at all and would recommend.

I don’t like brewing half a pot or a whole pot, for my quick morning cup, like I have to do with other coffee makers. Well, I believe I have found just what I was looking for! The only things I wish is that the water reservoir held more water, so you don't have to refill each time. Also I wish you could have a choice in sizes to brew. Overall, it's a great machine.

This seemed to fit the bill being compact and having the choice between cups, hot water for tea, or ground coffee. It makes an ok cup of whatever but it is noisy. I also have to empty the reservoir before the weekend to make sure there is no water left over the weekend. I’m the only one that uses it so it is good for one or two people.

Clear instructions, easy to use, brewed quickly, coffee tasted really good. Recommended.

I had one of these larger coffee pots my wife purchased me as a gift. We did some remodeling, and I wanted a red coffee pot. I ordered a K—-ig, and literally the coffee that I brew daily tasted horrible! I returned it, and purchased a red smaller version of the larger Hamilton Beach Flex Brewer! Nice strong coffee highly satisfied!.

The brewer worked ok for 3 months then began to have issues. It stopped working after 5 months. I was very disappointed in this product. Hamilton Beach has always been a good brand for me but definitely NOT the case with this brewer.
