Q: When I flip the waffle, the green (READY) light stays on. Shouldn't this light turn off when I flip it and then turn back on when the waffle is finished? How can I tell when the waffle is ready?

We bought this in November of 2023 and by June of 2024 the product was no longer working properly (something is wrong with the locking mechanism that holds the grids in place). When I contacted Hamilton Beach, they told me the product was out of warranty and only offered me a 15% credit on a new waffle iron. Terrible customer service. I will not be purchasing from them again.

The waffle maker has all plastic construction that barely turns the waffle upside down to cook. Unfortunately after a couple of months of very little use, the waffle maker no longer functions. Absolutely a garbage product!

Used twice in one side of the waffle maker already stopped working. Hamilton Beach is not the best quality but the price is expensive. We bought this one because it had a removable plates and one of us has a food allergy thought this would be a great option. Very low quality.

Overall a good waffle maker for the price. I really love that the plates are removable for washing. However, I’m disappointed in the temperature setting—at the highest setting (3) I cannot get my waffles to have crisp edges. Belgian waffles are supposed to be tall and crispy on the outside, but soft inside. Mine certainly came out tall and soft inside, but not crispy at all.

They are a great size. A little awkward to store but it flips sideways , so that’s ok. Just need to find a different way to store. Love that I can take plates out and wash, that was a Big plus!

Started using this waffle iron immediately and love the results. Set up is easy and it's very easy to use. As others observed the waffles came out somewhat crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside (mmm!) The waffles are also thicker than what my previous waffle iron produced, which (for me) is a plus. Being able to remove the plates for cleaning is a fantastic feature and the flip feature is super helpful -- especially with certain savory waffles, which may require a little extra help removing from the iron. I chose Hamilton Beach because of the positive experiences I've had with their other appliances.

This is a decent, reasonably-priced waffle maker. It's quite easy to clean with the removable plates and drip tray. Some of the other pieces might be harder to clean in the future. The biggest problem is that the heating elements don't heat the waffle surfaces evenly: one half of the waffle is always lighter than the other (on both sides.) One could turn the waffle around and cook it for an extra minute or two, but it would be better if the heating elements were designed a little better so it was even.

It is made very cheaply now. I had one drone years ago and the quality really has gone down hill. I had it up on the highest setting and it took 10 minutes to cook a waffle. It cooked unravel your. This is going back to the store. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy this one until the quality is improved.

Had such high hopes for this, with the plates being removable and dishwasher safe. The first two uses were perfect. Then the heat setting knob inexplicably broke off. It seemed to be held in place by two small flimsy pieces of plastic that snapped off.
I'm no expert but this waffle maker is great!

Great little waffle maker. Very forgiving. I am not an experienced waffle maker, and I use different brands of mixes, as well as making from scratch sometimes so my batter is always different. I watch for the steam to stop and I've had great success. And cleaning is a breeze with the removable plates. I overflowed badly once and had to take it apart, including one area not designed for consumer tear-down but it was pretty intuitive to get apart and cleaned. Once back together, it works as before. It is clearly a consumer product, not as heavy duty as the ones in the buffet line but seems solid and well constructed for home use.

This is a very good waffle maker. It makes one large waffle divided into 4 segments. It works great, cooks evenly, and the removable plates go right in the dishwasher so easy to clean.
Good except part of the outer rim of the waffle doesn't cook. Re-ordered hoping the new one doesn't have this issue.

Around part of the edges of the waffle the dough is not cooked. It is mushy. I returned the waffle iron and ordered the same one again hoping this was an anomaly. I sure like that the waffle plates are removable and can be put in the dishwasher.

I recently bought this waffle maker and my kids and me tried it out and we Love it! We followed all the directions on how to install the waffle plates on and was very simple and easy no complications. My son is 10yrs old & my daughter is 8yrs. old and I let them make their own waffles for breakfast with my supervision. They have no problem using it. We also use a baking measuring cup ( 1 cup ) to use to pour the pancakes mix to the iron plates. It's so much easier for them and me to use it this way. And when we are all done using it all I do is rinse and dry off with a towel , everything just slides off. We Love this product. Very satisfied. No Worries at all. Highly recommended.
