You lock it in place by pressing the back handle down, and let it work. No more aligning the cutters with the border of the can, and the lame magnetic can lid lifter. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

Didn’t work for me. Had it go around twice and still had to use a manual opener. The one I got didn’t work as. described. Never tried the scissors as I have several pair and didn’t need another. Missed the return date or I’d have returned it. Will stick with my old-fashioned opener - it actually opens cans with 1/2 the effort.

At first I was skeptical about this can opener since it doesn't open the can the traditional way but a much safer way, but I am sooo glad I bought it! I love the fact that it opens a can a safer way with no sharp edges. You can even put the lid back on the can for temporary storage. The design is so cool, it's so easy to use, a lot easier to clean, and for what it does (opens cans, has a bottle opener, and sharpens knives and scissors) it's a great price for it. Oh and that bottle opener...it's in a little hidden compartment right in the front of the can opener for easy storage. Also the electrical cord has a little cubby in back for easy storage if you don't keep yours plugged in all of the time. Hamilton Beach is a really good brand in my opinion. I've had their breakfast sandwich maker for any years now along with other items and they last a long time. I highly suggest it!
