Happy Hair People Ride The Waves Shampoo - 12 fl oz

I loved how this shampoo made my curls so beautiful. People were constantly complimenting my curls because of how defined they became when I used this product. The only downside is that I had some type of sensitivity to it and it burned my scalp and would make it raw and triggered my eczema. Idk what caused this but this is the first shampoo to ever do this to me. So just be weary if you have sensitive skin or eczema. I’m sad about having to stop using it and wasting an entire bottle of the product.

My daughter has combination curl types of 2b/c and 3b/c hair. It is coarse and incredibly thick. I have a lot to help keep her curls refined and manageable. High end shampoos and conditioners, creams, serums, I’ve tried drug store products, products and brands designed for natural hair or curly hair and everything in between but this shampoo and conditioner worked amazingly on her hair. I was honestly shocked. Her hair was moisturized, bouncy, shiny and her curl patterns were tighter, controlled and refined. No frizz, no tangles, no knotting in her under layers nothing! This is all without using any sort of finishing product. We run a wide tooth comb through hair (not more than 2 times) and then apply Amika’s Dream Routine cream all while her hair is still wet/heavily damp and air dry. I definitely will be trying the Feeling Groovy curl cream on her hair! I also tried on my hair and it brought my waves and curl back as well. I blow dry my hair every other day and I have color blocking in my hair so a good portion of it is lifted (bleached) and even that hair curled and waved. It also smells DELICIOUS! Only negative is I wish it came in larger sizes. I would definitely buy liters of this. We used the Ride the waves line.

Sadly this shampoo made my scalp extremely tight and flaky. At first I thought it was me but I stopped using it and it’s getting a little better. Plus my ends are so dry too. It’s way too harsh on my hair.

I loved the smell and how it accentuated my natural waves- but I think it was making my hair fall out. Stopped using it and haven’t had near as much hair in the shower. I bought it twice- and didn’t start noticing until about half way through the second bottle.

I love this shampoo. It smells amazing and I only have to wash my hair once a week. With other shampoos I have to wash twice a week. Highly recommend

When I bought it in-store, I initially thought it smelled nice. However, in the shower, the scent is overwhelming and stinks. I am also a fan of super heavily fragranced things (i.e., perfume and strongly scented hair products (like Ouai)). The formula itself was nothing to write home about.

The smell is great and I loved the silkiness of the conditioner. I have tried many shampoos and conditioners on the more natural end and they dry my hair out. I am very pleased with this brand and Im happy to find it at Target.

This shampoo smells really good and lathers well, however it made my scalp really dry and itchy.

I had high hopes for this shampoo, because the ingredients seemed to be pretty safe. However, it left my hair greasy and sticky at the end of the day. It smells ok, but I ended up tossing it out.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that this affordable shampoo has been working better for my hair than any other shampoo I’ve ever used. It perfectly hydrates my hair and defines my waves without irritating my skin. I wish they would make the smell of this shampoo into a candle or perfume because the scent is addicting.

I really love the smell of this shampoo. I have wavy hair and I’m making an effort to wear it naturally, and this shampoo is part of my routine. I love it!

It smells really good and I do think my waves look good but it has made my scalp SO dry. I’ve had to wash every two days because of how flakey my head has been. Sad but looking for something new.

I had high hopes, but it made my scalp super itchy/dry and my hair shed in clumps. Like a lot. I cried. I now believe it was my hair jumping ship to avoid the vasline like conditioner that never seems to rinse out. Thankfully, changing to another product stopped the hair loss. I am still trying to get my scalp back to normal a month later.

After using this shampoo for a couple months I decided that it wasn’t really for me. Compared to other brands that also have options depending on your hair type (function of beauty, native) I thought that this shampoo fell on the short-end. The first problem I have is with the packaging. The cap is incredibly hard to open and made it difficult to open without putting intense pressure on my nails. The bottle shape is okay but takes up a lot of space in the shower (short and wide). The next thing I disliked was the smell. It is intensely citrus - almost like an old citrus vs a fresh citrus. I thought I’d like it after reading reviews raving about the scent but it just wasn’t for me. Now for how it actually felt in my hair, I thought it was okay. I have especially fine hair and this didn’t really do anything to help keep it maintained. I felt as though my hair got greasier faster than normal and it was flat. It’s not a bad shampoo by any means, it just didn’t work for me personally. The biggest con for me is honestly the difficulty of the cap, it just made it annoying to use.

Fragrance is excessive!! I’ve had dandruff and random irritations on my scalp. Makes for dry, frizzy curls. Check your product ingredients on isitcg.com.. this one does not check out.

I'm always trying to find shampoo and conditioner that works with my thin, wavy hair. This one did not. It contains far too much oil. It weighed my hair down, flattened it out, made it feel like it had a plastic coating, does not give any shine, plus the smell was so overpowering and sickly sweet smelling. No wonder it was on sale. This might work if you have a lot of hair or very thick hair and don't care about buildup.

I felt like it left my hair very dry and it smelled like spices, maybe cloves, I liked the smell at first but I didn’t really love it.

i am just overall in love with this ride the waves line. my hair has never been more perfect in my LIFE. i was hesitant to buy this because of the reviews but i've tried ever other product that's been raved about up and down and they all sucked for my hair. i gave this line a shot because i couldn't rely on reviews anymore. i must say i am absolutely FLOORED with how great this stuff is. yes, it does smell like an incense stick, but you know what? i LOVE IT. i get sensitivities to scents, this is such a nice pleasant scent of orange, cinnamon, and some spice and it doesn't make me feel nauseated or cause my skin to react. the scent isn't overpowering either, and it doesn't stick on you for long at all which i love. i'd seen some reviews saying this causes scalp irritation, but for me my scalp is less irritated than using other "professional" products. also my hair stays shiny for longer, and it takes days on days to even start to get greasy again. with your usual hyped or professional product, i would be greasy in 2 hours. i can go 4 days minimum between washes if i need to with this line. specifically for the shampoo, it's really cleansing of everything, and i don't feel a product buildup like i would using other products. also, my hair falls out significantly less than when i use other products. plus the 7oz size is perfect for a shampoo since i usually only shampoo my roots unless im using an out of the shower hair product. i will be repurchasing this for as long as i can. my hair has never once looked or felt better than it does now.
