Q: Would it be possible to remove the red stain/oil on the wood? What color is the wood underneath? Also do all metal parts come separately? I'm thinking of removing the red stain, and spray painting the metal parts a gold tone.

We’ve owned this recliner for over a year and it’s holding up great and are very satisfied with the purchase. people, from kids to overweight 400 lb adults, each commented on its comfort and enjoyed the swiveling and reclining The recline length (to support one’s feet) and seat depth are very comfortable including for my 5‘10“ frame. We love that it’s so lightweight and easy to move around yet sturdy and modern/stylish. Love the color which is greige (beige/gray) and not stone gray. Note - We have no interest in heavy, bulky, forever furniture (after a recent move and where we are in life) and we bought this knowing that anything with faux leather will eventually peel. Aiming to keep this 5-7 years. The swivel function is smooth but not noiseless (sound of a metal ball on a track) so imagine a kid swiveling left/right, left/right, nonstop fidgeting could be annoying if watching tv but when I‘m swiveling when alone it’s not. Simple, manual functions

My husband put this nice chair together with a minimum of difficulty. Only problem was our Border Collie chewed up part of the ottoman’s wooden parts before we had a chance to sit in it! Oh well! That’s life with animals. The chair is comfortable and a very good value. Reclines easily, and one tends to fall asleep in this! We picked the lt. Grey. Only quibble is the wooden parts are very red wood. We will get used to it. Nice chair!
