To create Horizon Growing Years organic milk, we partnered with pediatricians to identify key nutrients for growing kids, ages 1 to 5. Every delicious glass provides 50mg of DHA Omega-3 to help support brain health, a good source of choline to transport DHA in the body, as well as prebiotics that help feed good bacteria in the gut and high vitamin D and calcium for strong bones. I purchased the Growing Years and saw it had prebiotics. I don’t normally drink milk but it’s mainly for my one year old. I wanted cereal and went to use it. I have never been so sick in my life. Then I checked the carton and it’s got algae and weird ingredients in it. I’ve drank kombucha and prebiotic yogurt and workout drinks but I NEVER heard of these bizarre ingredients. I had a horrible reaction and will never buy anything besides regular milk again. Also I saw there’s a recall on your milk from December 17, 2024.

I notice and off smell and a too sweet taste not even two days after opening. Has happened with multiple cartons. We dont drink straight from the carton either. It just spoils abnormally fast. I’ve looked online and others have this issue too. Maybe it’s the process they use to fortify the milk. Not a fan

Our 16 month old has been drinking this for several months. My wife finished a carton recently but it still felt heavy. We cut open the carton to find a thick yogurt type substance. The milk was not spoiled but is separating. We were then shaking the milk but the lid leaks and makes a mess, Then we just had had chunks again poor out of a carton. We will be finding something new to serve our daughter. It doesn't say anything on the carton that this needs to be shook and carton leaks if you do.

I wanted to love this milk. I loved that it had DHA, choline, and prebiotics. However, there seems to be a serious issue with either quality control or transport. I bought four half gallons from two different stores (target and a grocery store) over a two week period. All were spoiled. I’m glad that I noticed my child was rejecting it and decided to smell and taste it. I know milk with DHA tastes and smells different. This milk was SPOILED. Also, for anyone with a kid with a ragweed allergy or eczema, think twice before you give them milk with chicory root (prebiotic in this milk). There is documented cross reactivity between ragweed and chicory root. As soon as I discontinued this milk, my toddler’s eczema cleared up within days.

So I bought it a couple times now. Son seems to enjoy drinking it, but recently we've noticed some "chunks" when pouring. Keep in mind this is with shaking, with a fresh carton, and far less than the 7 days after opening. It's been refrigerated the entire time and not left out for longer than a couple seconds to pour. Starting to build some doubt if this is the right choice. Additionally, quite expensive for a half gallon. May look into other alternatives if we're getting inconsistency from a product we're paying so much for.

Transitioning from breast milk was tough, but this milk made the transition much easier. My toddler didn’t struggle with the change, as opposed to when she had the regular 2% milk.

This milk is always available and when we were out of our just organic horizon milk for my 1 year old my husband grabbed this. It made her violently sick and she threw up multiple times. I would not recommend and think the extra stuff in this milk is not helpful for small children.

As a breastfeeding mother I shop for the best and I happened to come across this product considering all the label advertised. I have had 2 glasses so far and feel great!
