Fun to fly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a lot of fun to fly. Its best to use in an open area when there is no wind. Its very light and even the slightest amout of wind carries it. My sons love flying it in the park by our house. My 3 yr old had a little trouble and required help but my 9 yr old was able to do it by himself. They chased it all over the park

Fun alternative to a real drone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to use “drone” for kids. My son who is 7, wanted a drone and got frustrated trying to figure it out. This Hot Wheels RC flying machine made flying easy! The buttons are simple and the plane can gently land itself, so as long as you don’t fly it into something, there’s no crashing down. The instructions are simple and easy to follow. The wrist strap is great for multiple sizes people, my son can wear it and so can I, which is nice. Other than the wrist strap, which is very Buzz Lightyear, it doesn’t really feel like Buzz, the character (who is only 1 inch tall) doesn’t look like Buzz. But this is a fun toy for kids.

Guaranteed fun with this spacecraft!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Such a cool spacecraft! My kids were so xcited everytime it took off in the air! My only dislike is that it has a short distance between wrist communication and space craft. We tried it outside and it was pretty difficult to figure out what direction it was going to take off and it just kept crashing into stuff. We had to run to keep up with it, which was a great exercise! We also lost the action figure in the grass within 5 minutes. I would say this is a great toy for a 6 year old or older, fun for adult's too! My nephews would love this as a birthday gift!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A fun first toy drone for little kids. It is simple to use as it only has a few buttons. The controller fits to their arm and is adjustable to the size of the child. My boys love going outside to play with this toy. The only negative is that the window and little buzz Light-year kept coming off and now we lost buzz somewhere after a crash. Also, this toy can only be used on a day with virtually no wind. Any little gust will take this toy with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upon arrival of this product my son, who is 8 and very mechanically inclined, could not wait for it to charge and to start flying it around. He read the flying instructions and felt confident it was going to be like the box said 'easy to fly'. On first launch the foam nose actually cracked and then made it a little unstable- we also noticed the ability To avoid objects didnt really happen. The door also doesn't hold buzz in very well - so we tapped him in. It took him a while to really get the hang of the three different buttons- he enjoys it but would prefer to have more independent control over what the drone does rather than it being almost a random selection. He made the suggestion of a little lever or joystick to control it for up down side to side and maybe actual number buttons for the 'stunts'. Having ADHD, SPD, and slight OCD make toys like this that you don't have full control of slightly frustrating. However, he has enjoyed every minute of playing with it and wishes to collect all the others in the collection- and before you know it we will have drones everywhere!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We tried to use it inside But this is better suited for use outside. It worked great for a day and then the propeller would not shut off. It is not very accurate when you push the buttons. There is a delay for any motions. If I was not sent this toy to review I probably would not have bought it myself.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This R/C flying toy is SO fun! It arrived in a very sturdy box but was very easy to remove! After adding batteries and charging for an hour it has been nonstop fun! The control panel took a little bit for my 6 year old to get used to but once he got the hang of it, he had it flying all over the yard and doing tricks! It is small but definitely mighty! The vehicle actually can get very high up in the air. I highly recommend this product! It is also very quiet when flying which is nice!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 7 and 6 year old love this toy! They live to flip it in the air. The directions don’t really say how to steer it but we just play with it in an open area and that seems to be ok. It lands well. .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son loved the drone, but i suggest you learn to fly it inside before outside first! We got our stuck on the roof before we learned how to fully control it! But once he brought it inside and learned to fly it properly he absolutely loved it, and flies it indoor and outdoors! Very simple plug in to charge is awesome as well! We will defiantly be playing with this for awhile!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The vehicle is easy to fly and it can flip mid-air with a push of a button. It also has protected propellers and a anti-impact system on certain parts so it doesn't run into things as often. All those are definitely big improvements when compared to other kids' flying toys that are difficult to fly/keep in the air, run into things and/or break permanently after a few minutes or the first impact. The downside to the design is that there are four propellers and there is nothing to stop it from landing on someone's head and getting caught in their hair, so you have to make sure there's supervision and you have a clear space to fly in, either indoors or outdoors. It does automatically land on its own, but there's no way to stop any pre-programmed maneuvers once they are started, which can be a bit scary if its landing in the wrong place. The controls are better for younger children than recommended; its just three buttons, one of which is for landing. Everything is a pre-programmed maneuver - there is no free-flying mode, so its really a one-trick pony. That said, there's three buttons, one of which is supposed to cycle through several different movements, but its hard to make it work as intended, even for an adult. It also has very little battery life - it made it about 10 minutes flying and then it takes over an hour to recharge with a USB cord. Its definitely not going to last very long - the body is a hard Styrofoam on the bottom with a light plastic on top; we were really careful about where we flew it so it wouldn't land on concrete or tile. It also comes with a miniscule figurine that fits in the cockpit, which was lost almost immediately because the cockpit hatch doesn't stay latched when it just falls out of the air when the battery dies. Its supposed to provide a verbal warning when the battery is almost dead, but it either didn't or was too quiet to hear over the buzzing of the engines. Younger children will find it too loud - it has a very high-pitched buzzing when flying - and even older children and adults will find it annoying, at least indoors. Our six year-old was too scared of the noise to fly it and our eight year-old wasn't really interested in it because she couldn't "drive" it; it was incredibly boring for the ten year-old . It would need to have more options for the 8+ crowd; today's kids are familiar with video games, so much so that a six year-old can handle the 10+ controls on most system controllers, so its perplexing that they didn't include more flying controls on this toy. They enjoyed watching Dad fly it the first time around the living room, and we took it out to a field one day, but its not something they will go look for in the play room.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hot Wheels R/C Lightyear Spaceship is probably the coolest toy my kids have ever received. The toy is very easy to use and will land gently. It seems to avoid objects well and it is steady. I appreciate the ease of this toy. You dont have to think to hard, you just push whatever flight mode you want to use. I am pretty certain the best part of this toy is that the controller is worn on your wrist, a close second would be that you can charge it with a cord!

Difficult to operate

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unfortunately our 8 year old is still trying to figure out how to operate this. The instructions aren’t much help, and both my husband and myself have also tried to fly it without much success. It definitely requires a large open area without trees/obstructions. It’s also very fragile, we’ve been afraid it’s going to break with it crashing. The “fans” are also pretty loud when it’s flying.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cool design, unfortunately my 6 year old was not able to work the remote as designed. Gets off the ground but we weren’t able to get it to flip/roll over or do any of the extra functions. The remote wristband fits well on tiny wrists all the way up to adult wrists.
