It was very high quality. The story is enthralling and leads you to multiple possibilities and twists. Ignore the haters they are just dumb and couldn't work it out. The clues were very clever, if you are a fan of escape rooms this is for you. We did the game with 2 players and it took around an hour. The evidence and letters and notes are all very high quality.

Made my night so much worse, it was such a bad game. Thought it would be a fun game to play with friends, but the answer actually makes no sense at all like what. The answer was thrown in and there was no common sense behind it. Genuinely I thought this was the worst game I have ever played and is dissuading me from ever playing another game from this company ever again. If you want to get a murder mystery game do not get this one. Why would you make a game and have the answer suck? And I mean this not in a subjective way, but an objective way. Like factually, the answer sucks. This game just made me so disappointed in the company, I really don't know how to feel about it anymore. It is that deep, no one should spend the amount of money they paid to buy this game in order for the answer to suck, and then they'll never be able to play the game again because they know the answer. Wish I read the reviews first and got a refund.

It was one of the worst murder cases I have ever done the handwriting was barely readable the directions were very unclear and if you get worked up easily this is not for you. This game will take more than 60 minutes. The lock is so cheap and doesn’t open I ended up breaking the box to see that was inside of it. This was just not worth 30 hard working bucks. DONT BUY! YULL REGRET IT!!! The unsolved case files are so much better than this and way more self explanatory. It also looked so unrealistic and I don’t like that at all.
Major plot hole that ruins the entire thing.

I almost want to write a spoiler so that I could save you from wasting hours on this product. Although the “mystery” itself wasn’t too hard to solve, the evidence left a lot of holes that made for a long and frustrating experience that ended in disappointment. I will refrain from giving too much away but the damning pieces of evidence in the case are locked in a container that the killer shouldn’t know the combination to and the game never gives any evidence or explanation as to how the killer opened it. This led us on a wild goose chase because there was no possible way the killer could’ve opened the container so we were stuck. Even the solution at the end gave no explanation. Major headache for little-to-no reward.

We love escape rooms, so this was very fun to have at home! You will need a big table/space to work this out, and about 45 min-1 hour. Also, once you play it once, that’s it; So we’re passing it off to our friends to play now.

Wow. My best friend and I LOVE playing these games. We live 17 hours away from each other now and enjoy spending a free night here and there playing one over FaceTime. I buy it, send her all the evidence and we create a murder board that we can update real time. We have played the Hunt a Killer games in the past and really enjoyed them! So we chose this one. *No spoilers* Well….What a bust and waste of $16 (that I luckily bought on sale, actual price is $30). We go through all the evidence and narrow it down between three. Usually there are more puzzles to complete, which this one didn’t. We had to have hints for the lock box even because nothing that we tried (that would make sense), worked. Finally giving up and opening the solution after 2-3 hours, we didn’t know how on earth they came to that person being the killer. The evidence just wasn’t there. After reading the reason why, along with the epilogue, it still didn’t make sense. Save yourself the time and get a different Hunt a Killer game. Dive bar, boardwalk, or the Nancy Drew ones were all sooooo much better, and more creative, than this. Even other brands have had better games. This one wasn’t thought through. I believe this was one of their first to come out that wasn’t a part of the subscription, so I’m assuming they just tried to pick evidence from all the pieces and condense it into one, which didn’t work out.

This was such a fun game. I’ll definitely do more of these! It took my friend and I a few hours to figure out, so it’s a good value

Lots of random things in the box that aren’t needed to solve the crime. Things don’t make sense even after we opened the solution and worked backwards. Played it after other friends who have played and told us it was bad but just wanted to get more people to play since you can only play one time.

Loved this game! It was our first time playing a Hunt a Killer game and now I’m hooked. The clues are there. Gotta read in between the lines. Truly enjoyed the critical thinking and the problem solving skills needed.

Game was not very clear. Actual killer was not obvious at all. Website they link you to for online clues is not a valid website anymore. This missed the mark.

I bought this game to play with my teen and pre-teen who enjoy mysteries and solving puzzles. We spent THREE hours playing this game and putting all the facts and evidence together only to get stuck and try and use the HINT link provided in the game pamphlet that did NOT accept the provided password. What a complete waste of time and when we finally looked up on the internet how to decode the lock, the solved mystery made zero sense. So so disappointed. I literally threw the whole thing in the trash after that. Huge waste of $35!!! Worst of all what should have been a fun bonding moment with my kids turned into feeling defeated after focusing so hard to figure it out. If you're wondering if this was over our head, I can assure you that wasn't the case. We have played many trivia, mystery games and even Box One and have never been so confused and frustrated as we were in this one. No support available as offered in the directions is completely misleading. My pre-teen loved Box One which was very well done, and I recommend that game. Stay away from this murder at the hotel game unless you want to waste your money and time.

I have so many unanswered questions after playing this game. All the evidence is leading in one direction for it to be someone completely different. The motive wasn’t that strong and one of the clues in the lock box just doesn’t add up or make sense.

The website provided in the instructions did not work and I hard to search for the website to check my answer. Some of the clues were just not logical, but once you unlock the tin the answer is very clear. Not much build up like in other murder mystery games I’ve played. You had to subscribe to marketing emails to get hints and clues. Probably won’t purchase this brand again.

I actually thought this was pretty awesome. I read some people saying that the story line was bad or was difficult to figure out with additional clues. I completely disagree. It was fun, engaging and I thing the solution to the game absolutely made sense. Was it hard and challenging? Yes. But SO worth it! We love a good challenge!
