A: Hi John, Yes the dropper (tube thing) is what is used to put water in the rear water reservoir. If there is no water in it, there will be no vapour. Save your money and your child's heartache. This think is absolute junk hit a bump on sidewalk during first use and the cheap gear sprags for the drive wheels broke instantly. It have a clickity clack when moving and then finally went where it belong the trash can. Didn't even get a dollar a minute out of this steaming pile.

Worst buy ever The car is really not strong with it’s body but hights are when it stops working in a week after Christmas gift opening. I would really appreciate Target to refund me for this car and notify the dealers for the cheap parts.

Cheap, broke on first use

The charging port doesn't work, meanig you'll get an hour of play before the battery runs out and this turns into an expensive piece of junk. Further, the "body" of the car is a very cheap feeling plastric held on by plastic clothespin fasteners - almost broke it removing it from the box, as the anti-theft fasteners were clearly the highest value and most rugged part of the whole set. The lights and smoke are cool effects, but not worth the actual remote control car not working. Can only be returned in stores.

Cheaply made. The wheel slides over against the inside and stops spinning so we have to adjust it every 30 seconds or so. Very frustrating.

It’s a cool RC. What got my attention was the steam. It does have its drawbacks though. First, the remote didn’t want to work at first. I had to press the batteries firmly for it to turn on. Second, I’m not sure if all RCs are like this considering it is my first one, but to move the car forward, you pull the lever down. Then push it up if you want to move the car backward. That was a little confusing. Lastly, I couldn’t figure out how to make the steam work at first. I left the car running for a little because I figured it may have to warm up. It finally started to work. The second time I used the car, it worked right away. Overall it is a cool toy and I don’t regret my purchase.
