Author Gabrielle Meyer introduced readers to time travel and time crossing in When the Day Comes, and I was awed by her ability to show Libby living two different lives, by going to sleep in one time period and waking up in another. Amazing, right? Now, Meyer has taken it a step further by having Libby's daughter Maggie living three, YES, three separate lives in three different times: 1861, 1941, and 2001. Can you imagine the research required to accurately portray events relating to the Civil War, WWII, and 9-11? In This Moment is a stunning tale of history, romance, and the reminder that sacrifices are often necessary. Maggie may be blessed to have three different families and experience three different lives, but she also realizes that she will have to decide which one she will keep. What life will she choose on her 21st birthday? Which families will she say goodbye to? I admit that I was guessing until the very end! This is a mesmerizing, intriguing, and unforgettable novel that you don't want to miss. I can't wait to read the third book of this Timeless series! I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.

Maggie lives in three different time periods: 1861, 1941, and 2001. When she wakes up, for example on a Monday, it is the year 1861. After she goes to sleep that night, she will wake up to Monday again, but this time in 1941. When she goes to sleep that night, she wakes up yet again to Monday, but in 2001. The pattern repeats itself for every day of the week, and then starts over. In each time period, she has a different set of parents, and lives different lives, but is aware of all three. To be a time traveler, one parent, in one of her lives must have that ability. In her case, both 1941 parents have the gift, and Maggie has two time traveler birthmarks instead of just one. On the day she turns 21, she will no longer time travel, and must pick which of her three lives she wants to stay in. She will die in the other two. As she approaches her 21st birthday, Maggie has no idea which life she will pick. Her time traveler parents tell her God will guide her, and they will understand if she does not pick them. From her 2001 life, she knows that the Civil war is about to begin in 1861, and that in December 1941, Pearl Harbor will be attacked, and our country will enter WWII. Maggie has always wanted to help people, so in 2001, she is studying to become a doctor, in 1941 she is a nurse. In 1861, she is fighting to give first aid to the soldiers because it is seen as unseemly for women to do so. In her different lives, Maggie sometimes finds herself in traumatic situations, and has budding love relationships in each one. Her time is fast running out, what time will she pick? This five-star book makes time travel believable; you will not want to put this tale down. Everyone will like this story, but those interested in history, or time travel will really enjoy it! Don't miss this one, I highly recommend it. Thank you, Bethany House, for providing Tickmenot with a book to review. Opinions are my own.

𝙀𝙣𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚-𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙡 𝙧𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙬𝙚𝙥𝙩 𝙢𝙚 𝙤𝙛𝙛 𝙢𝙮 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙩! Another time-crosser, but Gabrielle Meyer has upped the ante with THREE time periods. I couldn’t stop turning the pages! Maggie has to navigate three separate lives all near the D.C. area, and she loves them equally. How will she ever choose which life to continue living after her 21st birthday? Though she’s tried to avoid romance, she meets a man in each era which totally complicates matters! Plus she wonders where she can make the most difference with her gift of healing—in 2001 as an upcoming surgeon, in 1941 as a Navy nurse, or in 1861 as a woman helping wounded soldiers, using knowledge from her other two paths. (However, we know from book one that knowingly changing history can have catastrophic consequences!) Maggie is very relatable as she wrestles with learning to trust God’s plan and guidance for her life. If you haven’t read the first book yet, When the Day Comes, I highly recommended reading that first. I received a paperback arc from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Oh.my.word. This beautiful and compelling time-slip romance is pure creative genius! I devoured it almost in one sitting because I was so invested in the main characters Maggie is a time crosser living three different lives in 1861, 1941, and 2001. When she reaches her 21st birthday, she will have to choose one life and leave behind the others forever. Things I Loved: Plot twists Historical events Fast-paced story Sweet romance Light faith thread No plot holes The Ending & The Epilogue! Love Triangle (love square?) I know, I know. I always say that I don't like love triangles but SOMEHOW this one worked for me despite the angst I felt over which of the three love interests she would choose. Despite the fact that the book covers some very tragic historical events, I loved the hopeful and patriotic tone of the book. The message about faith and taking a step forward when we can't see the end from the beginning was very poignant, and the positive messages far outshone the sense of loss over the dramatic events that occurred. I don't want to say too much because this really is a book that you need to pick up blind, but I will say that you really need to read the first book before this one. Just trust me. Highly recommend and I will be waiting anxiously for the next book in the series. I received a complimentary copy but a positive review was not required.

Immersive and thought provoking, this riveting tale of a woman living in three separate timelines is a captivatingly compelling read, that had me gripping the pages until the very end. A stunning follow up to When the Day Comes, it can easily be read as a standalone. I loved this book so much, that I kind of read it more slowly than usual because I just didn't want it to be over too soon, as it eventually was. Maggie is a hardworking young woman determined to make the most of her time in each era that she has been given, using her gifts to help others. I liked her respect for her gift, as well as her devotion to her family in each era, as well as the friends and family that knowing her secret support her every step of the way. I loved how the author brought each of the time periods to life, each compelling in their own way I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite. I also liked how this book explores questions of trusting God with the future, as well as our free will, and using our gifts. The author did an amazing job handling the romances in each timeline, each man was intriguing in a different way, and spoiler--I love how it turned out! Overall, easily one of my favorite reads this year, I don't think I can do this amazing book justice as I loved it so much cover to cover, I wouldn't change a thing and I can't wait to read the next book in the series, next year cannot come soon enough! Compelling storytelling, weaving together 3 distinctive time periods into a compelling novel of faith, love, and courage, HIGHLY recommend! I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

You can’t play God, Maggie. All God wanted from her was to take a step of faith. Maggie was a time-crosser. She experienced life in three different times - 1861, 1941 and 2001 - at least this is when we meet her. Imagine all the incredible history she has been living through! Now that she is almost 21, she will have to decide which period she wants to stay in for the rest of her life. What a dilemma! Wishing that God would tell her what to do, her parents remind her that she does not need to make this harder than it needs to be. She will have to decide who she feels she cannot live without. Her passion to fix all that is hurting finally brings her to the point of realizing that she has to let go and trust God. But is she prepared to do that? This early copy of Timeless - 2 was received through Bethany House Publishers, Baker Publishing Group and NetGalley. These thoughts are my own and were in no way solicited.

Wow! In This Moment is another brilliantly executed time-crossing novel by Gabrielle Meyer. Her storytelling genius really shines through with three equally captivating timelines that transition beautifully! The historical detail is amazing in all three Washington D.C. settings—1861, 1941, and 2001. Well-crafted, compelling characters touched my heart and stirred my emotions. The real historical characters mesh perfectly with the fictional ones. I love the first person narrative. Having the story told from Maggie’s point of view helps you connect more deeply with her feelings and struggles. I especially appreciate the strong faith thread imparting valuable, relevant life lessons. This fascinating, unputdownable read is definitely headed for my Best Reads Ever list! I look forward to the next book in the Timeless series which I know will be as wonderful as the first two! I think fans of romantic historical fiction and time-crossing stories will love this book as much as I did, and I highly recommend it! I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley with no obligation to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What extensive research, historical events, historical people, and wonderful storytelling went into this book with three timelines!! I could not put it down. The connection to book one was wonderful. In This Moment by Author Gabrielle Meyer kept me guessing and turning pages far too late in the night. What a lovely and thoroughly captivating story! This journey through history, journey of faith, learning to trust God in all circumstances, and ultimately determining where Margaret/Maggie/Meg belongs, was fascinating. She learns to live fully in each moment she's been given. I loved following Margaret, Maggie, and Meg through 1861, 1941, and 2001 in her paths, during three pivotal times in American history. Each timeline is well developed and there are characters in each timeline who are close to her heart. She certainly loves people in each timeline, and healing is the next most important thing, so she has to ask herself where she can do the most good? What an agonizing choice she will have to make. Several moments were so touching they brought tears to my eyes. "Life is a gift and an adventure. We should never let fear hold us back from doing the things God has called us to do. The risk isn't always in going, sometimes the risk is in staying and missing out on the journey." “I’m so used to uncovering selfishness and betrayal. I almost don’t know what to do with sacrifice and hope.” "God in His infinite grace, was allowing me to choose, and there was no right or wrong decision to make. He was telling me to follow my heart and He would still be with me." I highly recommend In This Moment to lovers of historical fiction and multiple timelines! Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for allowing me to read an early copy. All opinions are my own.

"Suffering is not the worst thing in this world. We all suffer. Letting your grief hold you back from living is the true travesty." The premise of the first book was fascinating and innovative but Gabrielle Meyer takes it up a notch in this sequel. Maggie lives not just two lives but three during three different time periods. In 1861, she is Margaret, the daughter of a Senator. In 1941, she is Maggie, a Naval nurse, granddaughter of a Congressman, and daughter of two time-crossers. In 2001, she is Meg, a medical student and daughter of the President's social secretary. Each time period has a war looming and the political activity and environment at our capitol during these time periods is fascinating. I loved seeing the changes in Washington DC and The White House through Maggie's eyes. It's truly amazing how the author writes so clearly and reveals each subplot so coherently that there is no confusion as the reader moves through the time periods with Maggie every chapter. The first person narrative is fresh, honest, raw, and true to a twenty year old struggling with the biggest decision of her life. And those plot twists! There are quite a few so be prepared for some jaw drops and going back several pages to make sure you read the words correctly. The faith lesson of learning to let go and leaving God in control is a good reminder for all of us. What a fun journey this has been! Will there be a third book in the series? I sure hope so. I received the book from Bethany House via Interviews & Reviews and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.
