The all season Westinghouse WES31-1550 Electric Infrared Outdoor Heater ushers in a new standard in outdoor heating. Focusing the warmth precisely where you want it, this versatile infrared heater is very efficient using radiant heat. Completely safe to use outdoors in all weather conditions, safe to use in enclosed areas, and hardly affected by wind you will have instant warmth year-round. You can use it freely in various places, like the garage, backyard, living room, outdoor bar, restaurant etc. Our 1500 Watt infrared carbon heater is a type of infrared heating device that uses a hydrocarbon filament instead of a tungsten filament as a heating element. Such a heating element has a high thermal conductivity and, accordingly, has a higher heat transfer. The supplied telescopic pole allows you to adjust your Westinghouse infrared lamp at the exact desired height for optimum performance and look. The handy remote control lets you manage the heater bulb at a distance. Pre-heat the zone before you go outside, or control the element from distant seating area without the need to leave your comfortable spot. This remote offers full control of the heater including turning it on and off. If the unit is knocked over by the wind, kids or even the family pet, it will shut off automatically to prevent any chance of fire. Just stand it back up and turn it on again. The wide & heavy base makes it difficult to knock over, but accidents happen and this feature will keep you safe even if you are not present. The IP55 rating allows you to leave this unit outside all season long and not worry about dust and water filtering in. Manufacturers are not listening to consumers about the cord length of out door electric heaters. A 6 foot cord is pretty useless. Why don't they provide at least a 12 to 15 foot cord and/or also why don't they offer the proper gauge extension cord so it is safe to use?

We are sorry that the cord length does not meet your needs. Current certification protocols call for a 6 foot cord to be tested and producer almost all issue their products with the recommended cord lengths required for testing. Having longer cords in all products would also drive up the cost of goods being sold. In our user’s manual, and on a label on the cord near the plug end, we have added instructions on what gauge of extension cord should be used with the product. This will be a 14 gauge extension, rated for outdoor use. If you should decide you want more than 50 feet in extension cords then you should go to a better gauge, 12, to compensate for the loss over distance.
