Q: How is odor control and what type of litter should be used?

A: You can use any type of clumping litter. They recommend their Tofu mixed litter, but I use World's Best Litter and it works just fine. The odor control is great, there is a small container inside the machine that will spray an odor eliminating liquid for as many times a day as you wish. I only have mine set for once a day and that seems fine.

Upon receiving the PuraX, I was excited for a new automatic litter box because my cat"s one year old Litter Robot is noisy and clunky. Assembling the PuraX was super easy and there is even a little deodorizer slot so it sprays some after each use. My cat, Puffy went into the box immediately and used it. The automatic rotation is very quiet compared to the Litter Robot. The tray is also designed very well so odors can't escape when Puffy's output is sitting in the tray for a long period of time. The litter box connects to the PETKIT app and is so easy to use and control remotely if needed. The PuraX also weighs your cat as well! I definitely recommend and I plan to get another to replace the Litter Robot because Puffy is exclusively using the PuraX and loves it the most.

App is great tells you when it’s been used and how much the cat weights but doesn’t help that they don’t last very long I have owned mine for less then 6 month and the inside material where the litter goes is all cracked will never purchase again as there warranty doesn’t cover nothing definitely wouldn't recommend or buy it again

I've had 2 different Litter Robot 3 models for about 5 years, and I finally gave up on them and got one of these. So far, I'm very impressed. The LR3 was plagued with sensor problems and unreliability. I had to replace the DFI (drawer-full) sensors so many times, plus the pinch sensors corroded a lot and the cat sensor needed replacement too. It also frequently needed to be disassembled and cleaned out, because littler would get under the globe and interfere with the sensors. The LR3 is nice when it works, but it takes so much tweaking and service to keep working, it's barely worth it. On top of all this, connecting to the app is a pain, and the app is unreliable and is unable to connect to the litterbox after a while, requiring a new setup. Using the new Pura X has been a joy compared to the LR3. It has an actual display screen on it to tell you what's going on, instead of just 3 lights. The app is really easy to set up (and works with other PetKit products, such as my automated feeder) and use. The mechanical and sensor design of the product is much better, in my professional opinion as an engineer. The machine is much quieter when it cycles. It's much easier to clean as well. It also has a deodorizer function that seems to work well. It's an expensive litter box, but not really any more so than the LR3, but it's a far better product.

I have 7 cats and have 2 of these for about 3 weeks! Can’t say enough about how great they are. Even my older cats have adjusted. I tag the bags out every other day, but the boxes are cleaned 3 times a day based around when mine use them. I don’t have it clean after each use as I fear they might get spooked. I use less litter too.

I’ve had a Litter-Robot for 6 years or so. First v2, and more recently v3 with connect. Recently the app would drop off/disconnect and over all the Litter-Robot was having issues so i decided to try this. Cat used it without prompting and has continued to use it although her Litter-Robot is right next to it. It’s only been a few days but so far so good. Zero issues with the app or the robot dropping its WiFi connectivity. The robot was seen in the app immediately without issue for initial connection. Love the spray cleaning feature but curious where to buy the solution and how long it lasts. We’re also using a PETKIT feeder so having both in one app and connected to my kitty’s profile is awesome. For a few days in.. i highly recommend.

I really like this litter box! Their cable is also braided leaves no worries for chewer cats. The best part is their app. The app gives me detailed information regarding each visit. I can also control the frequency or time frame of the cleaning cycles. The price here at Target is also very competitive compared to other sellers. I had a great experience with their customer services. Strongly recommend this litter box and Target.

Absolutely love it, It’s so advanced and solved the issue of my cat not using his box. This automatic box is so advanced and stays so clean, I’ve had zero malfunctions so far and the app it pairs to is so simple. It’s also really quite. The mat it comes with helps with litter scatter so much. The box will stop it’s cycle if the cat approaches to avoid the cat getting hurt. The only issue is the weight sensors saying I don’t have enough litter but I think that’s my fault for having it on top of carpet. Other than that it works flawlessly. I love how the box itself looks simple and modern compared to other boxes I’ve seen. Definitely worth the money paid for considering my cat use to pee everywhere but his box because I didn’t have time to scoop twice a day

very quiet compared to the litter robot. easily hooks up to WiFi and the app. you get notifications everytime cat uses it and can monitor their usage. litter stays in box and doesn't se to migrate through the machine like the litter robot does, much better waste capturing. only downside I've noticed is there doesn't appear to be an automatic shutdown for excess waste. I haven't been able to find out if the waste bin is full for a while if the unit stops emptying.

This is a fantastic litter box. It has several sensors and sends a notification when a cat gets in the box (including the weight), when it leaves, when the litter box is cleaned, and when it's sprayed. It has sensors that detect movement in front of the box; the motion stops when cleaning if a cat approaches and movement and weight sensors keep it from rotating when a cat is inside, so it's safe. It looks like a clean retro mini washing machine that goes well with any decoration. It's large enough for our 12 lbs cat. The spray smells super nice and it actually makes the whole room smell fresh. We left the dirty bag for days to see if the smell helped our cats get used to it, but we could never smell anything. We use World's Best Cat Litter and it works well. A small amount seeps through at times, but nothing alarming. We love not having to scoop one of our litter boxes and are planning to eventually replace all of them with this. It is also very quiet. I highly recommend this litter robot. The only downside is we haven't been able to find the purifying refill. Hoping Target will pick it up sometime soon since it doesn't seem to be sold anywhere in the US.
